IT spoke with the parents of DE/LB Justice Finkley of Trussville, AL recently and they gave some insight into how Texas was able to offer late but keep making noise in his recruitment.

They love how thorough and hands-on Sark is, and Coach Kwiatkowski even set up a Zoom call for the family with UT's neuroscience department (both parents are highly educated) along with making sure they had a bunch of other information they wanted on UT.

The family hears from home state Alabama quite a bit, but this appears to be a recruitment that's genuinely about more than football which is why Finkley is giving such a hard look to schools like Michigan and Texas.

Per IT, Texas is getting "closer and closer" with LB Sebastian Cheeks of Evanston, IL.

Notre Dame remains his leader as they're one of the home schools, but it's possible they won't have spot for him in the end and he does have a small Texas connection with his brother running track for West Texas A&M.

He will be in Austin for a mid-June official visit.

As long as we keep losing to TCU, Fatterson will wave that in front of every recruit's face.

"Why go there when you can come here and beat them"

Really hate to see this. The kid is elite.

Why do the Duncanville guys always throw shade at Texas?  The one the we got recently Jackson left us to to go be a backup at Utah....

For those who aren't on social media much, just wanted to point out how much focus Coach Banks seems to be putting on recruiting specialists.

It's really nice to see with all of the special teams gaffes throughout the years.
