*****GAME THREAD: West Virginia Mountaineers @ #22 Texas Longhorns*****

Does going undefeated and losing in the Big 12 championship game buy CTH another year?   Should it?
That's a good question. If we lose one more game then he's gone and if we win the Big12 then he should be back. I hope he's not back if we lose in the Big 12 Championship game. If it's against OU then that would be a 1-5 record against the sooners.

That 1-5 record against OU and the problems with recruiting is enough for me to make a change.

I honestly think this staff should consider giving Sam 2 weeks off.  Let Casey start against Kansas and see what you have in him.  Bring Sam and have him in case, but 2 weeks off for Sam would do wonders, imo.
We have this week off. Sam will have two weeks off to play against Kansas.

I haven’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s something fundamentally wrong with a team that cannot put away its opponent, even when the opponent is begging to be blown out.

I'm not sure if it is a mindset, or something else.... but it has bitten this team and almost bitten them several other times.

Agreed. I believe it is a coaching philosophy similar to how Mack used to take his foot off the gas in games. As his mentor did, Herman follows that pattern. As undisciplined as this team is and seemingly poorly coached, failure to put inferior teams away is like constantly dancing on a razors edge.

Mack addressed that once in a post game interview and he said he did not like running up the score if the game was already decided. Sportsbooks knew that and Texas always had trouble covering the spread especially against early inferior teams because MB would call off the dogs...in fact the books like Texas because they are traditionally around .500 ATS which the books loves ....Herman seems to be the same way...look at the UTEP game, they blew them out in the first half and basically played them even in the second half

Random question:

I thought I saw Fr Sawyer Goram-Welch on the DL getting game time.  Can anyone confirm or deny this?
