Interesting post in light of what I read on OB. Supposedly there was a "come to Jesus" type meeting yesterday involving coaches, analysts, and support staff. According to what I read, Tom demanded people speak up about what they were seeing and apparently some people in the room took him at his word and didn't hold back.Herman better swallow his arrogant pride and hire a real OC and DC and not just "yes" men.
WE’RE YOUNG!!!!Herman better swallow his arrogant pride and hire a real OC and DC and not just "yes" men and let them do their job. Texas just seems cursed since the Mack Brown era. I liken Texas football to a cush federal prison for white collar guys go to ride out there time. The biggest bunch of underachievers I have ever seen on the field. All this BS talk about DBU has to stop.
I remember reading so many undefeated preseason predictions and a slew of 1 to 2 losses. Well we have gone below that threshold already.
For those following recruiting on a daily basis please tell me how TCU and Kansas can out play us with walk ons and 3 stars. This TCU team is no where near the level of past TCU teams and yet they still own us.
There is no excuse for this trash. TCU has won 6 of the last 8 games.
I swear to god if I hear that mensa bitch make one more comment about winning is really really really hard im gonna smack him off his perch. Hey Tom try being a fan and watching your team get outplayed and outcoached!
its been a f##king decade since I have to seen a good Texas team.
Orlando needs to take Lambo and get lost.
Can you elaborate?Interesting post in light of what I read on OB. Supposedly there was a "come to Jesus" type meeting yesterday involving coaches, analysts, and support staff. Wow. Productive meeting then. This is literally all that was said.
I’m not saying OB isn’t reporting what they were told but I don’t, for one minute, believe it happened.Interesting post in light of what I read on OB. I've worked with a couple of Mensa card carrying members. They were intelligent and arrogant. They both exuded hubris, which was their downfall. Herman is no different. His post game press conferences are a prime example. In his last two Monday press conferences he seems to have dialed thing back, but it is probably too late at this point in the season.I’m not saying OB isn’t reporting what they were told but I don’t, for one minute, believe it happened.
This is the narrative Herman wants to spin, It’s CYA 101. He wants people to believe He is making sure He gets this thing turned around. He wants people to believe his staff has been holding back their opinions and thoughts? Why would they? Are they supposed to be afraid to speak up or question him?
On one hand I respect the fact that this narrative places the blame on himself and gives the staff a pass (they know different things to try but are nervous about sharing) He’s trying to protect them.
On the other hand it pisses me off that he thinks people are so naive to believe the guys on this staff, some who have been with him for over 5 years, don’t have the guts to stand up when needed.
It really is Herman not having the guts to replace the ones who are in over the heads.
I didn't mean that's all that was said in the meeting. That's just all the poster on OB had to say. Assuming the poster knows what he is talking about, which I think he does, I'm sure there was a lot said by numerous people in the meeting. May have been productive, may not have been. Who knows?Wow. Productive meeting then.
Pretty much disagree with most of your post but, as I've said before, just because you agree with me doesn't mean you are smart and just because you disagree with me doesn't mean you are stupid. I see things differently. I think people are underestimating Tom. And to some extent, misreading him.I’m not saying OB isn’t reporting what they were told but I don’t, for one minute, believe it happened.

If you attempted this, there's a very good chance you would get fired before Herman did. But I'm not sure you would have ever been hired in the first place. So it's probably a moot point. But, if it make you feel any better, I do agree with your last sentenceIf I were hired as AD at Texas tomorrow, this would be my agenda day 1:
1. Find that sledgehammer Herman used to break up the locker room and take it to every LHN camera on campus.
2. Walk into Herman's office for a sit down. Bullet points for this meeting:
A. D coordinator goes immediately. Replace him with someone on staff who knows how to run a traditional defense. New coordinator is to be hired at season's end and he can bring some staff with him. I have VETO power.
B. Offensive staff is your discretion - but choose wisely because....
C. Next year you're coaching for your job. Year 4 of your regime ought to have Texas where we think it should be..... elite. Anything short of a conference title and a playoff birth and you can start packing before I step back in this office.
3. Slam the door so hard that the window breaks.
I didn’t say I was qualified for such a role.
A bit.... but it makes me feel bad that you took this as a serious declaration though....If you attempted this, there's a very good chance you would get fired before Herman did. You think it makes you feel bad that I took this as a serious declaration, just think how I feel now ?A bit.... but it makes me feel bad that you took this as a serious declaration though....
