Will be interesting to see Jones’ development this offseason. If he locks up the RT spot then he is well ahead of schedule. 

I am told his athleticism is off the charts. Former soccer player who seems to get better by the day. He's way ahead of schedule with his size and strength. They'd like to give him another year for more polish, but if they don't find a suitable GT then they'll go with him.

Won't footwork and quicks help Cosmi in pass pro if he's moved to LT?

286 lbs ain't small and it didn't hurt his performance last year. Yes, it'd help his NFL prospects if he's 300+. Who are your projected Starting 5 on the OL next year, Daniel?

I can't imagine a better scenario for our OL and team if Jones really has blossomed enough to take that spot. That would give us serious tackle depth and red-shirting for the first time since I can remember. Incredibly gruntling.

More interesting to me is who makes up our 2nd team OL.   It will be interesting to see which of our young OL (besides the obvious - Jones) is developing the quickest.

I've read that Angilau is in the mix to start at one of the G spots....in fact they said he was working with the 2's during the bowl practices.  I kind of see it as this (for Spring ball at least):

C Shack

G Angilau & Kerstetter

T Cosmi & Jones -  but I wouldn't be surprised to see Johnson starting as a Fr.  His athleticism and skills are elite, IMO. 

I know we would like to not have to start a true freshman on the Oline, but if he wins it then roll with it.  The main thing is that they have competition now to pick the best ones.

Probably not. We have depth at that position now. Whats more interesting to me is the fact that OU has such trouble keeping defensive talent around.

How does everyone think Our approach will be towards taking transfer portal players. I feel like it sends the wrong message to the players you built a relationship with over the years.

Probably not. We have depth at that position now. Whats more interesting to me is the fact that OU has such trouble keeping defensive talent around.

It wouldn't hurt to put more depth at that position in the event of injury prone...

I always thought Fr indicates “true freshman” and Frosh indicates “redshirt freshman”.... you know, like a mix between Soph and Fr....

am I wrong?
