I think we need to be more patient before we start saying Beck needs to get fired. In his first year his line experienced many injuries, a Freshman started most of the year at QB, and he looked promising, just made some Freshman Mistakes. He had one TE forcing him to slide Chris Warren over to the TE. And it was his First year. Y'all remember when Kansas won that Orange Bowl and Todd Reese was their QB? You know who the OC of that team was? You guessed it! Tim Beck. The man knows offense and it doesn't help when the men Upfront are banged up. This shouldn't be a make or break year for him. If we underacheive then the 3rd year should be a make or break year.

PS Have y'all seen how good Chris Warren III has looked in Oakland??

I agree mostly.  I definitely think we should reserve total judgment until we see this team with a serviceable OL. We put a lot of blame on Beck but it was a conglomerate of issues that affected the offense: injuries to the OL, true frosh QB, confusing play calls and questionable personnel substitutions.  Let's see how it all comes together this year.  All areas I mentioned should be much improved...

I don’t have a problem with giving Beck the benefit of the doubt.

If Warren had played for us they way he’s playing now then Herman wouldn’t have moved him to TE.

I believe the only reason he moved him to TE was cause we were thin at the position. I'm sure helped become a better an all-around back tho

He also wasn’t picking up positive yardage as a RB...of course he also didn’t have a decent OL.
I believe he had less rushing attempts than Ehlinger. Toneill Carter and Danny Young looked promising. And have you checked out any Tre Watson highlights? Dat boi fast!!

I'm definitely willing to give him the benefit of the doubt considering injuries and o-line issues.  I am hoping that Herman's got him on a short leash, though, and that he's going to take over play calling if there's no improvement.

I had a good chuckle about this this post. First of all Tim Beck was never the OC at Kansas. He was the WR coach. That's kind of an important  fact that you got wrong in defending Beck's record.
Beck took over as the OC at Nebraska taking over for the great Shawn Watson. Nebraska had the same four loss seasons as when Watson was the OC. He took over for Herman at Ohio State and JT Barrett and the Ohio State's offense had a down turn during the Beck years.. Meyer was going fire Beck if Herman hadn't hired him after the Buckeyes couldn't score a point in their playoff game.

Everything you said about the team last year is true and hopefully that will improve and the offense will be fine this year. However, the facts are we have an OC who could have been fired for the last two years and no one would have complained.

We have an OC who the HC had to take over play calling duties in the bowl game. Meanwhile in the off season, NFL coaches were going to Norman to pick up Lincoln Riley's offense. I didn't hear of any NFL coaches going from Norman to Austin to learn from Tim Beck. What concerns me about me most about  Beck is that we had ex UT players tweeting last year about the bad play calling.

We haven't even played one game this year and your giving a pass  to Beck for a third year.Your either drunk and lost or your trolling.
