You could be right. Dealing with the lack of depth in LBs and the situation with Boyd probably was the scenario with this committment

The staff knows they need depth, but they aren’t just going to take bodies.

To me he looks like the perfect kind of recruit to fill in / out a class, strong, quick, athletic and likely a great program fit with blow up potential, and from Florida with all those implications. Just the timing makes me wonder if our depth issues played a part. Depth there is my main concern anyway. I guess Roach is the wild card. If he's playing tons of reps at LB maybe it's not such a worry.

not sure but that film is really damn good. if he is 6-3 225# thats impressive. he will hold 240# very very easily. i want him to keep the movement and flexibility. he clearly is a MLB in our system and a good run stuffer, great at sniffing out screens, he even back peddles well into zones but does tend to get lost a bit when he gets back in space. that can be improved with time. reports are he is very disciplined and a student of the game so both will be huge. He can blitz pretty well. i wasn't sure of the Hawaii HS football quality but someone on here (sorry forgot who) posted  their top level is pretty decent low Texas 5A. He would be able to interchange a bit with Floyd so it would be hard to tell who is blitzing and who is covering. He is polynesian so you know he has nice ties and is innately stronger than the average person his size, racist but true.

Dropped one for Marcus Washington. Texas hit a home run this weekend and the buzz is that Texas made a big move for the Trinity Catholic WR. Texas has been working hard on several players at TC (particularly Mookie Cooper) so landing Washington would be huge.

He goes in the offensive weapon category with how he is used currently and will he used at the next level. Think Ramonce Taylor or Percy Harvin. He will line up all over and be used anywhere from running back, slot receiver and even dabble as a return specialist.
