2018 Recruiting Board/Thread

i hope not, i hope they coaches are trying to talk them into it. Attitude appears to have been bad and they don't bring much on the field.

if we had a pool to choose another WR , it would likely be Curtis. His on field ability is still unknown, attitude has been pretty decent from reports.
Oh yeah.  If they're a locker room issue etc. we should let them leave.  Just hoping they  aren't and we keep some of that speed.

Wasn't there also talk about Mapps possibly looking to transfer?  I hope not because he came on strong this year.

RHM lost someone very close to him. It was a family member but I'm not sure which one. Anyway, it had him all messed up in the head for a while. I think he's coming out of it.

Lots of talk about Texas possibly taking 31. I think that's a bit too enthusiastic. But after Coburn, Ingram, Carson and Williams, who are the other eight? Ojomo, Moore, Bush (?), Ossai, Keys (?).....I've run out of names.

Gotta say i love what this staff has been able to pull off. Cant wait to see this translate to winning on gameday.

It's possible, Texas has 18 seniors next year and some players could leave early, plus the usual attrition. So they could take 31 and still have a full class next year, but I think it will be around 28 this year.

Highly doubt V. Jackson.. That is if he wants to come.. Umm that's all I have on my list

After reading all this talk about who Texas is talking to, I have absolutely no clue they will finish with.  Assuming they sign Coburn and Ingram, that gives them 23 total signed.  I think it' safe to say Ossai and Moore are are strong candidates for 24 and 25.  If they are able to take 31 with six being pushed back to last year like Herman said (I thought that rule was no more, but Herman knows more then me), then that leaves 6 spots.  Ojomo and 5 others are left.  Anyone care to take a stab at the other 5.  Could there be a surprise or two that no one is tracking?  I think I just went cross-eyed thinking about it.

Edit: I guess I should've read Barons post above.  He said the same thing succinctly and with far less fluff.

The DC DL, Caleb something.

Talking to a LB from Cali

V. Jackson. We have a shot.

Waddle. Don't take him off any list until after NSD.

1. Okechukuwu. I actually like his film better than Williams, but the competition is suspect.

2. Does he have an offer? I think I might have read about him but I seem to remember he was a grade risk. I could be way off base here.

3. I keep hearing Bama or aggy with Jackson, but I ain't connected like you  :P

4. Get those Kate nudies ready

there are a lot of unknowns for sure.

20. RB - Ingram

21. DT - Coburn

22. SDE/4i - Carson

23. DE/4i - Williams

----------------------------

24. Ath - Moore

25. OLB - Ossai

26. DT - Ojomo

27. OT - Anderson (GT)

----------------------------

other options:

WR - Keys, Preston, Bush, Waddle

OT - Tucker (GT)

DL - V Jackson, Caleb O

LB - cali, georgia, Luke Brockermeyer

along with Keys and Ojomo, we will host a long snapper this weekend.

Justin Mader (Car jokes welcome) from Magnolia, Tx. 6-0 215#. Kinda small right now but rated #2 LS in the nation, was invited to All-American game.

I assume its as a walk-on, thats my hope at least

The grad transfers will not count against the recruit total, just against the 85 limit.  So, Herman said they could take 31 2018 recruits.  Lots of unknowns.

Caleb O – Can you get just as good or better next year? If Ojomo joins, does Caleb still fit?

Those in bold, IMO, are already on board or damn near it.

WR - Keys, Preston, Bush, Waddle – This is interesting because, conceivably, we could land three or none of the four. But with the type of momentum we've had, I would not bet on a whiff here. I had doubts about a last minute flip from Preston. But if anyone could pull that off, Herm/Carrington can. All we need is for Preston to follow through with that visit.

Bush I think they take regardless. Kid has potential in a sphere we've never even heard of. He's a WR.

Keys would make a great sub for not getting Waddle. But against ND, it seems a medium-long shot, IMO.

Waddle – I've maintained there's a reason he's still dancing with us. Yet, Bama (IMO, the real threat) will host him. If he wants to stay local, it would not surprise me to see him land here. Aggy is in some chaos right now and wreak with desperation. Thats a real turn off to a kid like Waddle.

I continue to dream of landing Jackson. He's a lot like Williams but more college ready and perhaps, pings higher on the talent scale. Yet, IMO, he's either sticking with Bama or he'll stay close and be aggy. It pains me so to even type that.

Cali LB – I assume we checked the grades before even hitting him up. I would hope so. I don't get real excited about these types because its hard getting them in, its even harder keeping them in.

Brockermeyer – if the space is there, why not? Kid plays HARD.

No worries. Makes me feel like less of an idiot when someone else posts the same thing  :)
