The End is Nigh

Can someone please tell me the loss to Kansas is that the worst loss ever in the history of Texas football?

Oh, I think he has been told, and I think the player's have been told.
That is interesting. I can see your point. It could magnify the chaos if his firing became the focus. They need to focus on kicking TCU's ass. There are only 3 or so days to get ready for the game. Every minute counts

He should have been fired after the game.

If we beat TCU by 70 points its going to be very difficult to make a change and either you are going to have disgruntled fans and alums or players.

Explain to me after losing to Kansas and you still need to review after the TCU game.  What a joke.
Imagine the atmosphere in the stadium if Texas loses to TCU. The damage to the relationship with the fans if this goes badly Friday will be huge. Perrin cannot survive Charlie laying an egg in Friday. I'm not even sure Fenves can survive that.

This is becoming such a colossal clusterf##k.

Wow. I am truly disappointed in how things are being handled. I expected more professionalism from Perrin. I am truly disgusted that they can't get anything right at UT these days.
I couldn't agree more and I'll take it a step further. I hope they bring him back now. I don't think he's the guy, I've been saying it for a long time. But I think the administration's spectacular mishandling of this situation highlights a much bigger issue within the program than whether our football team is winning and no amount of coaching changes is going to fix it.

Marching Strong in front of the media to flap about like a fart in the wind when everyone knows what a loss to Kansas really meant puts the gross incompetence by too many to list on full display (AD, president, BMDs, etc). We deserve every bit of the criticism our program is receiving. I'm disgusted that Strong was put in that position today and firmly believed he was simply being afforded the ability to make the official statement himself (Randolph Duke I think you even mentioned that in a thread last night...). Strong handled that conference with the dignity and class he's presented since his hiring yet our administration is unwilling/unable to offer him the same in return when it's clear it's time to move on. Again, we deserve to be the laughing stock we've become.

Charlie doesn't strike me as a guy that can act.

He fully expects to be back.

Mark my words.  Texas will demolish TCU.  Much like Iowa State did to us last year.

The only consolation is Rhodes was still fired regardless.

But now the players are going to be even more pissed.

If he isnt fired, then get ready for another decade of .500

Excellent post. It is time for a leader to step up at Texas. It is more apparent than ever that this is what Texas is lacking. Not football leadership. University leadership. Every a-hole donor, a-hole fan, a-hole reporter, a-hole etc has an opinion but nobody seems to want accountability. They just want what they want. Friggin' chaos

Emmanuel Acho mentioned something about this as well on ESPN and he nailed this to a T on what he said

I am dumbfounded at what I just saw. Forgive me if this sounds random, but I have a lot on my mind on this one.

I've never seen a coach as beloved by his players as Charlie. The man is an amazing role model, practices what he preaches and has to be admired for showing up under those circumstances and being a true pro about it. I've been a big fan of Charlie's for those reasons and was pulling for him to do well this year and earn a 4th year. That being said, you can't lose to iowa state and kansas. You can't be fighting to be bowl eligible with 1 or 2 games to go in the year, 3 years in a row. It's time to make the change.

Perrin and/or Fenves needed to nut up and thank him for his leadership, dignity and professionalism, let him coach against tcu as a parting gift, but made it crystal clear that he is done. Only thing that they have accomplished is to allow this team to show up, beat tcu and muddy the hell out of the water at Bellmont. You fire him after trucking tcu and you have a situation on your hands. You keep him after beating tcu, but losing to ku and you have a situation in your hands. Either way it's a sh*t show of aggy like proportions. No one wins from this. It's like lsu last year. Sympathy grew for Miles and he kept his job after beating lil bro and look what happened this year.

Where can I get a high paying job, screw it up and keep it year after year? Apparently at Bellmont. No damn body is doing their job over there. Where do I apply, because I can screw it up no worse than the current administration.
