"Had an interesting conversation yesterday with an NFL guy about CFS. I have been critical of his recruiting style – and I’ve been wrong. I say this 2 days before NSD because the avalanche is coming and the class will be better than the experts say.

He tells me our 2015 class has 9 certain pros – maybe more. It is early but Scouts are especially impressed with Jefferson, Williams, Burt, Hill and Warren, in that order.

He says Charlie recruits differently. He tells guys he will take longer because he evaluates until the last minute so not to worry if an offer is late. Tells them he does not pay attention to stars but he watches film. Best example last year is 3 star Williams, criminally underrated. He tells them when he offers it is likely because they can make the pros. And this is why he flips so many late. Oh, he thinks we get Fowler.

All our guys are waiting until NSD because ESPN has promised them slots back to back. The avalanche is coming and this is why ESPN and other services are starting to report we will have a big day.

pretty good analysis...but I disagree with one point. As soon as Texas starts playing like the Texas of the past ( and we will play like that) we will once again be foremost in the in state kids minds.....winning will take care of most if not all of our recruiting problems.

I think you are correct and hope so. I am telling you though this isn't the Baylor, TCU of old. They have the spread hurry up offense that scores alot of points and that is what kids want to play. I hope our offense does the same. Kids don't seem to care about distance of a school from home anymore. They will go to Bama, UCLA, Stanford etc without batting an eye. I hope our on the field product greatly improves this coming year and we will hopefully see kids want to stay home.

The irony is Strong in the fact that social media was a divisive, evil thing in the middle of the season but now may be the thing that makes and saves this class and the football program. Whoda thunk it?

We're gonna be deep at the defensive tackle position for the next 3 years. Elliot, Giles, Taylor, Daniels and 2017 #1 DT Marvin Wilson if we're able to land him

This is critical. I am sure Strong will give it the importance it deserves with an in person meeting. Especially since its Dad. The respect that conveys is priceless.

For a face to face, Fowler would have to travel to campus, right?
