Is there any scenario that includes Charlie Strong coaching the Longhorns next year that doesn't piss you off?  Assistant coaches get fired and you get pissed, they don't get fired soon enough and you get pissed.  Mack left the program in a shambles is an excuse and you get pissed.  We're playing FR/SO who are extremely talented but inexperienced because Mack left the cupboard bare, another excuse that pisses you off.  We're 4-7 two years into a 3 - 5 year turnaround (that is what you projected MB, isn't it?) and it's time to fire him because of the Iowa State loss despite the fact that we're playing the 3rd toughest schedule and that we're a couple of boneheaded plays and a handful of bad/questionable calls from being 7-4 instead.  Injuries?  Excuse.  Lack of support from AD?  Excuse.  Hiring Cumbie?  Not good enough.  Considering Hurtt?  He made mistakes/used poor judgement at Miami and doesn't deserve a shot even though there've been no issues since. 

We've had a couple of rough years but we are not a "shit program" and we never have been/never will be inferior to aggy in anything!  Like it or not We're Texas and we might be down right now but we're not going to stay down, only a fool would believe any different.

A MOD on OB has said that UT has told Strong Hurt is a no go. So yeah I am questioning Strong on his decision making which to date has been awesome according to the apologist.

Link?  Who are you even talking about?  I don't know what the 'mod' on OB is referring to - is this recently, or from back when Strong was hired and Hurtt had the show-cause in effect?  Context is important - in this and pretty much all things.

Are you such a loyal defender of Strong and staff you simply blow off a 24-0 loss to the prestigious Iowa State football with more great insight such as the "We are Texas" rhetoric and irrelevant SoS.  If you have a legitimate reason.  Im sure all of us would love to hear it.

Yes I am tired of hearing its Macks fault.  Maybe because I have seen the tea leaves before on similar topic.  Its all Bush's fault still 8 years later. I think by most accounts 3 years is enough to see improvement.  We will see next year.  Let me know when we have turned that proverbial corner in this turnaround.

Never said this either.  I would LOVE to have this guy and hope we get him.  On the flip side, how convenient it is to say Charlie should stay he has brought us Core values and shit to now...oh he cheated but thats ok, Charlie says get him.  So I can understand why some may be concerned with the message this sends to the players but I want him here.  Call me shallow IDGAF.

Yea you are right.  I pretty much globally sent that out to anyone who believes Strong shits a golden brick every morning and is not even remotely responsible for how his team performs in any single game, including Iowa State.  Not even .001%.

1. I did say it was a 3-5 year rebuild. So I expected about where we were in 2014 (6 & 6). In year two I also expected about 6 & 6 again. But also thought 7-5 was possible. Yes you say we were just a couple of plays away from winning a few more game but we were also a few plays away from being 3-9. Now in regard to me saying a 3-5 year rebuild I was referring to by year 5 we would be competing for national championships. A lot need to happen based on what I have seen this year for that to happen.

2. I am fine with firing assistant coaches. My argument has been why are we not holding Strong to the same standard that the asst. coaches are being held too? Also why do the same excuses people are making for Strong do not apply to the reason the asst coaches have not been good?

3.I have said many times that Mack left the program in bad shape talent wise. But many think we have the worse talent in the country and that is simply not true.

4. In regard to the 3-5 year rebuild argument again based on my eyeball test I am simple not convinced Strong will get it done even in that time frame. So if I am convinced of that what point is there to go any further. The same can be said when you hire someone at a company. I hope Strong succeeds here and the best part we will know pretty soon if that is the case.

5. Cumbie is unproven yet he may turnout to be just fine. I just think it is a big risk at this point.

Yes, I'm pissed. If 4-8 doesn't piss you off, then I don't really know what to tell you. Of course that's assuming we lose to Baylor which we probably shouldn't automatically assume. And, yes, I think we make too many damn excuses. 

Assuming that he upgrades the offensive coach staff, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Charlie win 8 games next year and I would be happy with that. Win 7 and I'm not happy but I'm also probably not pissed. Win 6 and I'm a little pissed. Win less than 6 and I'm more than a little pissed. Win less than 6 and lose the opportunity to get Tom Herman and I'm royally pissed. 

I think Charlie is probably just a good enough coach to get us close to being a perennial top 10 or better program. But I want someone who gets us there, not close. It is my opinion that Tom Herman can get us there.

As I like to say, and have said before on this board, just because you agree with me doesn't mean you're smart and just because you disagree with me doesn't mean you're stupid.
