When asked about some crossfire on social media Monday by freshmen reacting to comments by junior safety Dylan Haines - Texas QB Jerrod Heard said Tuesday his freshmen teammates "love Twitter - maybe too much."

"So I'm gonna get their phones and delete Twitter. That was just boredom. That was guys bored, on Twitter looking for retweets."

Heard said there's "no tension or beef in the locker room. Everyone is getting along like brothers."

Texas' redshirt freshman QB said he learned of the sparks flying on social media when "someone texted me and said, 'Get your teammates off Twitter.'"

Heard said the team had a very good, spirited, up-tempo practice on Tuesday.

Screw ESPN...LHN doesn't mean **** to them compared to the $EC network. All they care about is the $EC. If they are for something we need to do the opposite. They don't want Texas on top. That hurts their beloved $EC recruiting and will up the value of The Big 12 in the play-off committees eyes.

College players don't care about the AD position. They care about who their position coach is and the head coach. Thats it. Some may not even care about that. They just want to get to the NFL if they can. You ask players who the AD is and some may not be able to name him....and I'm talking about all of them, not just the ones at Texas.

I'm still missing your point.  Did you read the article? It mentions the turnover of not only the AD but also the coaching staffs, change in offensive and defensive strategy and players not even remember who recruited them.  Here's a breakdown of the changes (in a nutshell) as mentioned in the article:

"2011: Mack Brown shook up his coaching staff and hired five new assistants. Texas installed a new Boise State-like offense under Bryan Harsin and a new defensive scheme with Manny Diaz. The Longhorns lost starting quarterback Garrett Gilbert for the season after two games.

2013: Harsin left for Arkansas State and Major Applewhite became the playcaller. Texas moved to an up-tempo, no-huddle offense, which was scrapped after two games when David Ash went down with a concussion that eventually ended his season. Diaz was fired after two games and former DC Greg Robinson, a "football analyst" living in Los Angeles, was brought in to repair the defense. Then Brown stepped down at the end of the season.

2014: New everything: head coach, coordinators, assistants, schemes. Strong took over to reboot Texas football. Shawn Watson and Joe Wickline installed a spread/West Coast offense. Strong and Vance Bedford redesigned the defense. The offense had to divert from its plan after losing Ash for the season after one game as well as starting linemen Dominic Espinosa, Kennedy Estelle and Desmond Harrison.

2015: Texas transitioned back to a "new" up-tempo spread offense. Strong demoted Watson and Wickline and named Jay Norvell the new playcaller after one game. Starting QB Tyrone Swoopes also got benched after one game forJerrod Heard."

The offense might get a pass since it has been a cluster for years.....OK..Robinson coming in was a good thing. Players learned how to play defense...Bedford has been here two years.....So what is the defense's excuse ? No way they should be this bad even with youth. We had a revolving door at DC while we were going 10-2, 11-1, winning national championships. Robinson,Chizik, Muschamp,etc, etc,..so coaching changes don't mean crap as long as the coach is good...its part of the game.
