Texas vs USD Game (4) Thread ***SU 2:05 PM CST***

WTH, I am out all day and I come home to this... where are the Horn baseball stalwarts and mojo?
Apparently today was the day to totally bail on the baseball team and take a nap in the middle of a double-header.

And give up pbp duties in the seventh inning of a scoreless game
I was merely trying to change the mojo. We had lost the early game, my streak had been broken.  Matt had a win streak.  We were really struggling.

Plus, I had to go buy briskets and ribs to smoke tomorrow and Tuesday before I head to Palo Alto.  So there's that.

I hope Matty saw clear to get you press passes so you don't have to mess with the riff raff. Which reminds me is Slim making the trip

Yeah, one would think he'd take care of me with some sort of media credentials.  NOT!!  I'm just a regular joe out there.

As far as Slim, he was originally contemplating going out there, but at last report, he had something more important to do.  Still trying to figure out what that something is, though.  If it's anything like today, ol' Slim may be changing his username to Rumpelstiltskin and napping TH-SU.

as for the nap, i was reserving my strength for an offensive run in the bottom of the ninth, and left holding the game to joeywa, matt and others.  alas, i wake up in time to lend a hand but the first thing i see is marlow's overthrow of first and then i'm faced with a six run deficit to overcome.  leaving to buy briskets is clearly not a suitable excuse for abandoning the team in the late innings, and yes, i understand that briskets are important generally but joey is just going to have to work on his timing.

as you can plainly see, i was able to score the run we needed in the bottom of the ninth, but unfortunately, joey et al had let in 6 runs which was too much for my karmic arrangements.  had i thought we needed more, i would have taken a shorter nap.

i lament that i cannot make the stanford series as i fear that joey will not be able to turn the team around by himself.
