Texas vs Minnesota ***Game 3 Thread (SAT-6:30 PM CST)***

Interesting statistic:

Texas this week has 57 hits, 37 runs and have given up only 4 runs.

Granted it's been against UTSA and Minnesota, but that's an impressive combination of hitting, defense and pitching.

Huge credit to joeywa for 2 straight games of PBP. What a stalwart!

Those are very impressive stats against ANY caliber of college baseball competition.

Great reportage, joeywa. Thank you!

Jeff has earned a can of Shaeffer on me when he is in my neck of the woods.

Nice job buddy!

Anytime ETex.  Glad you enjoyed it.

Looking at the series next weekend with San Diego, they aren't very good. I thought they might be decent. They are currently 1-5, against Morehead State and Dallas Baptist. They've given up 10, 8, 4, 5, 4 and 9 runs to very average teams. Needless to say, they have some pitching problems.

So far, other than Rice being a very solid squad, the rest of the teams have not started out on fire.  USD is struggling, and they were supposed to be formidable.  Stanford is currently 2-3, and may be 2-4 if the 7th inning score vs Cal St Fullerton holds up, (Stanford trails 3-0.)  Nebraska is 3-3.  While we looked to have a decent strength of schedule in non conference, it may not pan out that way.  Ultimately it depends on Texas to keep winning.  The rest will sort itself out.

Yep. I thought USD would have been a little bit better.

The Nebraska and Stanford series will still be good RPI opportunities because they are on the road. Stanford and Nebraska aren't killing it early, but I bet both still make the postseason.

As per, as per. as per....Monarch, are you there?  Seriously, I know he stirred up things here, but I liked

his topics as to good tunes circa 1970. We had some good discussions as to great bands and tunes from

back in the day, circa 1970s.
