2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

stp, why would a great baseball player go to College Station?  If you think it's to enjoy the culture, you should reconsider.  I remember when Aggies went to Austin just to look for a date.  I realize the situation has improved, but for Kyler, this is a business decision, and I don't think that it is more complex than that.

It is important that Kyler look toward his future.  As fans, we have the luxury of ignoring that.

A REAL possibility.  Why do I suspect that Lodge is just following his bud to Austin, while Murray checks out our baseball program?

Daylon Mack following Bedford is a non-issue.  He follows lots of people.

Who on here really believes that Murray, a dedicated aggy legacy, will come to UT?

LOL!  I'm sorry to be such a wet blanket, but, c'mon folks.
After today's activities, I believe there's a possibility that Murray could come to UT. Murray may be an aggie legacy, but his father doesn't like Sumlin.  He's also known CS from 1985 when they were on the same team. It was also reported that his father wasn't pleased with the way Johnny F has been trained for the NFL while Bridgewater is way more advanced.

Daylon Mack following Bedford could be telling since Malik, Lodge, and Murray are good friends and the thinking was they would all play together at A&M. Mack was believed to want to follow them and this could mean he may be interested again.

Also, Soso wants to play with Murray and this may explain why he cancelled his visit to A&M last week. If Murray and Lodge schedule a UT OV then that's when aggies should be worried.

Edit

Maybe I misread your post.

I was trying to say that I think this is a business decision for Kyler. As a two sport star, it's obvious that Texas is a much better choice for him. Our baseball program has Omaha written all over it for the next few years.
We all know Texas leads the NCAA in CWS appearances. In the history of the aggy program, they have one CWS win (against Kansas, back before the creation of the Big 12). No one goes to aggy to showcase their baseball talents.

If Lampkin is still coming in this weekend with his OV, then it leads me to think the ou rumors were inaccurate.

If he were going to flip to ou on NSD, I dont think he would have the guts to still visit this weekend -- and face Strong, Bedford, Norvell, Rumph and Moorer.  I would love to be present for these face-to-face meetings, if they do happen.

If all of this was BS then someone owes Lampkin and the rest of us an apology.

i totlally agree with you on that one juan

BON weighed in on JUCO WR Dominique Reed

http://www.burntorangenation.com/2015/1/21/7869397/dominique-reed-official-visit-texas-longhorns

"......... The 6'4, 185-pound pass catcher is an Arkansas native who has taken an unofficial visit and an official visit to Fayetteville since he was offered by the Razorbacks last July. An official visit to Oklahoma was supposed to happen last weekend, but Reed instead made his way to Arizona State.

As a result, two Oklahoma coaches flew out on Monday to the small town near the border of Oklahoma and Kansas to visit with Reed and didn't have much choice in transportation at the local airport:

So if Norvell ends up making the same trip in the near future -- or has already done so -- he'll probably have to roll around in the same Caprice the Sooners coaches used. Coffeyville is just that type of town.

A consensus three-star prospect, Reed is ranked as the No. 3 junior college wide receiver by 247Sports and the No. 27 junior college prospect overall. Besides the aforementioned programs, he also holds offers from Louisville and Florida, among others.

But his connections to the state of Arkansas could make him difficult to pull away from the Hogs -- all seven of the predictions in his 247Sports Crystal Ball have him playing his college football in Fayetteville. However, none of those picks were made since the middle of November, so there seems to be much less consensus now about Reed's eventual destination.

And the quick decision to visit bodes well for the Longhorns.

Texas currently has pledges from Mesquite Poteet wide receiver DeAndre McNeal and Georgia Prep wide receiver Gilbert Johnson and is the odds-on favorite to land Aledo's Ryan Newsome on Friday over UCLA. The Horns are also still in contention with Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln wide receiver. And, of course, Cedar Hill wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge was in Austin on Wednesday with Allen quarterback Kyler Murray.

I was at Austin's Domain Apple store getting a phone replaced as these pages unfolded the past couple of hours.

Real pleasure scrolling through the contributions while I was being tended to (great staff there, btw).

Having been on several fan forums for over a decade... this site layout and leadership and participation here deserves a lot of credit. Thanks all !!!

I have to admit, this is a good question.  Maybe it's Lodge making the visit and Murray just tagging along?
middle of the week, no advance notice, an aggy commit and 'dedicated legacy' shows up in austin and tweets out a UT jersey with his name on it.

doesn't sound like he was just tagging along to me. does it really to you ?

One of the mods at TOS has predicted Murray 50% to flip to UT and Lodge 45% if Murray does.  This mod has some decent recruiting chops, but likes to tease as well.

So take this for what it is worth.

You and some other info I just heard are starting to convince me.
