That's a nice list though. I'd probably move Lockhart down, Hasty down, Elliott up. Otherwise, about where I'd have it.

I'll give you some thoughts on how things went and then maybe Garland will chime in with some thoughts of his own.

• Garland and I collaborated on this to pool a little more knowledge and each had a separately ranked list that we consolidated into a composite ranking.  There were some guys I was higher on and vice versa.  Near the end of the process he and I both lobbied for some guys to move higher or get onto the list. 

• Daylon Mack and Malik Jefferson are 1A and 1B in the state more than they are 1 and 2.  I had Jefferson number 1 and he had Mack number 1, and neither of us were willing to fight the other that hard over them.  We had to assign them a number but those two are a virtual tie. 

• After seeing both up close at the Elite 11 camp I gave the QB position edge slightly to Stidham who dominated that camp.  Obviously Murray is among the most decorated Texas HS quarterbacks to have ever played, but I like Stidham a bit more throwing the ball and he can move as well.

• Another interesting battle is for the top RB position where it basically came down to Chris Warren vs. Ronald Jones (I consider Soso Jamabo an athlete who probably plays receiver at the next level).  I like Jones a bit more and Garland liked Warren a bit more.  The two are another virtual tie. 

• Blake Lynch is a player we both really like.  It's hard to believe that Kris Boyd would be the second ranked Gilmer player on the board, but Lynch has so much to project on, and Lynch might have been the best player on that Gilmer championsip team

• Aca'Cedric Ware from Cedar Hill is another name that generates very little buzz because he's been committed so long, but I'm a huge fan.  During Cedar Hill's state championship run it was Ware and not Damarkus Lodge that carried the Longhorns to the title.  The duo of Ware and Ronald Jones is going to be a scary combination at USC.

• SOC DB Jamile Johnson was a guy I had to pound the table for a bit.  When I saw him against Ennis, he was the best defensive player on the field.  He's a bit limited athletically but he plays physical ball with a bit of a mean streak and is the leader on a team full of D1 prospects.  Longhorn fans will love this kid.

• Texas has secured 3 of the top 20 from this list (with a realistic chance to have 8 when it's said and done).  Texas A&M has secured 4 of the top 20 (with a chance to have 7 when it's all over).  Oklahoma only has 3 of the top 50 as they are being muscled more and more out of this state.

I'm surprised Omenehu (sp?) is so low. He looked really good in the Semper Fi game and has nice size and closing speed for a HS DE.

Also, can you give us a quick projection of where you think any of the Florida 5 might land on this list if they were in Texas?

McNeal was a little low and President was a little high, IMO. Outside of that, I think everyone landed about where I thought they would.

The 30-50 was very close and resulted in some tough decisions. I had Omenihu a bit higher but both of us had him ranked in the 40's. At the end of the day we just found it harder to push guys in front of him down in order to elevate him. We still think he's a solid 4 star with a lot of upside.

As far as the florida 5, if it were me I'd say

Clarington between 12-16

Irvin between 18-22

Davante Davis and Cecil cherry between 32-36

Gilbert Johnson between 38-42

McNeal was a little low and President was a little high, IMO. Outside of that, I think everyone landed about where I thought they would.

I like president a lot as an athlete but not quite sure how I feel about him as a QB. If evaluating him strictly at quarterback he'd be a bit lower.

I'm a huge fan of McNeal and think he's only scratching the surface on his skills at WR, but hes a guy that doesn't have one outstanding trait, instead he has a lot of good ones. Again, that range had some tough competition.
