Official release from UT Huston Street joins baseball as student assistant Longhorn great and 13-year Major League Baseball veteran set to join the baseball staff. 08.15.2019 AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball head coach David Pierce has announced that 13-year Major League Baseball veteran and former Longhorn great Huston Street will join the Longhorns staff as a student assistant. By the conclusion of the 2019 MLB Draft, David Pierce and Texas Baseball experienced pretty much what was expected going in, the loss of one of their prized recruits and a couple of current players taken. That's the good news. The bad news is, one of the current players drafted was David Hamilton.
