I know there are some decent ones but most of these guys in Baton Rouge are magnets that attract all kinds of bad shit. I won't run down all the run-ins with the law but the latest is LSU running back Jeremy Hill cold clocking a dude outside of Reggie's Bar in April (from behind) and then high-fiving people is classless. Hill pleaded guilty this week and is expected to avoid jail time (he was already on probation). A link to the video is here - Video of fight involving LSU RB Jeremy Hill. Keep in mind this is the same dude that coerced a 14 year old to give him oral sex 2 years ago (and was charged with a misdemeanor). If Less Smiles overlooks this and plays him this year.......... All respect lost.
It appears Texas and the Bayou Bengals will face one another as part of a basketball series of games at American Airlines Arena in Dallas on November 8th. No official confirmation yet but it is all but done. Should be a good game. I have always wondered why Texas and LSU never played more in basketball or football. Hell, hold the games in Houston. Both schools have massive fan bases in H-town.
Torrodney Prevot told Rivals.com he has trimmed his list. "I have been narrowing it down to a few schools like LSU, Texas A&M, Oregon, USC and Cal," Prevot said. "I've been cutting it down a lot. It's really those five. I'm still open though. Anybody could still come in and recruit me because I'm not only looking at those five. In my opinion, this is a huge blow to Texas defensive recruiting. They were on this kid early and often and from what I heard really wanted him in the mix. It's not the end of the world but with Daeshon Hall decommiting and going to Washington a few weeks ago, Manny Diaz will have to find other Defensive ends to recruit in the state. The problem is there are not much left that are truly elite prospects at the defensive end position in-state. I could see Jake Raulerson moving to DE if both Jackson Jeffcoat and Alex Okafor leave for the NFL Draft. But it looks like Texas might have to look out of state to get a DE commitment.
