Essentially, the definition of a temper tantrum is an emotional outburst or tirade that is characterized by screaming, kicking, yelling, foot stomping and hitting with the expectation from the tantrum-thrower that he/she will get his/her way.  It is also imperative to add that the typical age of temper tantrum throwers is roughly 1-4 years old.  We have all seen adults that sometimes act like children and for the last few weeks we have seen much of this.  Texas A&M Athletic Director Bill Byrne is a classic example.  As Longhorn faithful we know Texas A&M has always envied The University of Texas and the spectacle of the last few weeks has proven this.  We can also add Bob Stoops and Gary Pinkel to that list…

Texas Sets Conference Record with 15 Big 12 Championships

On Monday the Big 12 Conference Athletic Directors unanimously voted to table the possibility of The Longhorn Network to air high school games until next season.  Meaning, NO high school games will be aired on the network this season.   Does this include junior high too?  A positive from the “meeting of the minds” was that the option for the Longhorn Network to televise a conference game (in addition to the Texas vs. Rice game on September 3rd) is still viable.

The swell of sentiments throughout the great debate on the merits and detriments of The Longhorn Network is that Texas should throw in the towel, go Independent and tell the Aggies to “take that!”  The  University has plenty of money, plenty of recruiting prowess and plenty of options.  The Aggies and Bill Byrne get their way, for now, but somehow I think the kicking and screaming is far from over.
