We are awaiting official news to be released from the University and his family, and will have a story up soon. Rest in Peace, Coach. It's a sad day in Longhorn nation and the baseball world. Hook Em Coach.
  2. Just a quick note, Coach Augie Garrido was hospitalized last night for serious medical condition. I don't know many details as of right now, but please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. If I hear of anything else, I'll let everyone know. https://twitter.com/joeywa_44/status/973025104081780736

  5. Didn’t see one posted yet, and Horns are up 27-20, 7:08 left in 1st Half. Grayson Allen has 3 fouls early. Horns looking pretty good against the #1 Blue Devils.

  7. Cantu is getting a change of scenery. Wish him the best. He has always been a fine representative of UT, especially off the field. Hopefully this fresh start helps him find his groove again.

  9. Lace up those spikes, put on your game faces and pop that mitt Seamheads, because it's Friday! The final weekend series of the regular season begins today as the Longhorns take on the Mountaineers in a 3-game set at UFCU Disch Falk Field. As I mentioned Tuesday, I am not going to be around much this weekend, so hopefully Will, Harrison and/or Aaron can pick up the slack. Feel free to chime in on the game thread. Let's see if we can end the regular season on a high note. A series win would be very good for the Horns and their post-season seeding. Quick matchup notes: TEX
  10. Happy Tuesday Seamheads. Absolutely huge week for Texas Baseball starts tonight. The Horns host Incarnate Word in the Tuesday evening matchup, which precedes a 3-game set at UFCU Disch Falk Fields against West Virginia to close out the regular season schedule. Texas currently sits at 31-19, (9-11 in Big 12,) and just outside of the Top 25. As of today, Texas is projected as a #3 seed in what would likely be a highly unfavorable regional setting, (think Oregon St.) Texas certain can make some noise this week with a 3/4 or 4/4 record against Incarnate Word and WVU. A 2/2

  12. Happy Friday Seamheads. I won't be doing the games today due travel. Texas really needs this series. Of course that is beginning to sound like a broken record. I'm guessing that the series schedule has been adjusted due to potential weather on Saturday evening. 15. THE TEXAS LONGHORNS TAKE THE LONE STAR SHOWN DOWN AGAINST THE TEXAS A&M AGGIES 4-3 By Will Baizer Tuesday, Texas A&M’s baseball team made a mid-week trip over to Austin to face the Texas Longhorns in a Lone Star Showdown on the diamond. After a high intensity game, the Lone Star Showdown belongs to Texas after the Longhorns hold on to stifle an Aggie comeback to the tune of 4-3. Last year’s game ended off on a walk off homer run for the Aggies and they ran out of the bullpen flashing the horns down. The feelings coming into this game were just a fresh as if that walk off and
  16. Season opener today and our own Harrison Weir is going to be making the game call. I will be following along. I'm looking forward to seeing what this team can do this weekend. Rice is banged up, without four key players, down 3 Ps and an infielder. I'll pop in as I can to discuss things. Hook Em and be nice to Harrison! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RECAP by Will Baizer: Texas dropped the first game of the four game series 2-3. Post game Pierce preached having a short memory, as the Longhorns have a double header t
  17. Good afternoon folks. Welcome to another year of Texas Baseball. There are a lot of new things this season. New coaching staff, new shoes, new moved-in fences, new faces around the diamond. We'll have lineups as soon as possible. Game time is 2 PM CST. As always, I encourage you to chime in on the game thread. Also, remember I'm a fan, and I do this for fun. I enjoy it, and while I try to keep my 'fandom' out of my PBP, it may rear it's head from time to time. Hook Em, and let's Play Ball!!
  18. It all began with his tweet after the spring game. "Could've told my mother to save her money on the plane ticket". Half of a game after being called on account of rain, or a subtle blast to the fact he didn't sniff the field? I don't know, but I believe, when it comes to a young guy who wants his shot, it was the latter. When Buechele became the obvious nod to the future with Ehlinger on deck at QB, I knew Locksley was going to have to change positions or transfer. Then it was even more evident when Heard got moved to WR, where a stable of capable guys was already in place. Now, I d

Game time is 7:30 PM on Wednesday night on FOX College Sports. I'll be posting updates in this thread. We may have a separate game thread going, but let's see how this plays out and go from there.
