  1. Texas has 4 players playing for the Santa Barbara Foresters; Tournament MVP Bret Boswell continued his torrid hitting by knocking in the Foresters first two runs with a second-inning double, and Hunter Williams and Tyler Adkison provided home run power. Esquivel wound up allowing only four hits and a run in 6.2 innings, basically matching the previous playoff starts by Kyle Johnston and Connor Mayes. Together, that trio made up the entire CCL all-tournament pitching staff. In all, seven Foresters earned all-tournament mentions (see box). http://sbforesters.org/2016/07/31/foresters-

  3. Armadillo Slim Jim Schlossnagle had some interesting comments last night. There is some momentum gathering on the subject - it's more than just a disgruntled coach talking... "It's hard to get upset with your offense when you're facing that type of pitching, and I've got to be careful here before I say some things about this ballpark that I'll regret," Schlossnagle passionately said. "It's just a travesty what we've done to college baseball. But it's very impressive by Howard, very impressive by Ferrell."
  4. While Dustin McComas writes for a competitor's site, he is one of the best on the UT Baseball beat, and a personal friend. I would encourage you all to take a look at this free article, https://texas.n.rivals.com/news/true-to-himself-and-the-game It is a fantastic look into a few dealings with Coach Garrido, and offers some great insight into the man behind the coach. This may be one of Dustin's best articles to date, and one of the best reads on Augie that I've seen.

  16. Article by Taylor Smith, HornSports Contributor The Texas baseball team handed Texas Tech its first Big 12 series loss this past weekend. After the Longhorns lost game one 13-6, Texas bounced back and won games two and three 7-4 and 17-1, respectively. In game one on Friday night, the Longhorns scored first, taking a 5-0 lead after three innings.
