Texas half of the 6th: 1 out, bases loaded, 1 run already scored, and tech goes to the bullpen for the 5th time I believe maybe 6th?

Texas gave up another solo homer to Kash, but got out of the top of the 6th with a 5-2 lead.

Hurley did come out for the top of the 5th, but gets pulled. Hurley's line for the day: 76 pitches: 1 hit, 3 hit batters, 4 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 1 run. Correction Texas 5-1, missed the 4th run earlier in the game.

Thru 4 innings. Texas 4-1. Texas has 3 homers in the game. If Hurley comes back out for the 5th: he needs to settle down on the walks and hitting batters. Hurley came into the game without hitting any batter snd has hit 3 today.

After 2 innings complete Texas up 3-0. A 2 run homer in the 1st and a solo in the 2nd.

The finale is about to start, but the softball team hasn't finished their game against tech. Texas wins in the bottom of the 9th. 6-5 Texas returns the favor from 1 of last year's game in Lubbock. Brown gets a double. Then a balk gets him to 3rd. Wild pitch amd Brown scores. 13 game win streak.

Neither Shaw or Morehouse could get the final oit before tech ties it up in the top of the 9th. A wild pitch that didn't get but like 3 feet away and the tech runner on 3rd ties to come home is out at the plate. On to the bottom of the 9th. Damn it!

Texas scores 2 in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead 4-3. Going to the 7th. Texas has scored something like 31 or 32 runs in the 6th inning, most of any inning.

I believe he transferred after last season to tech. He would most likely be the starting 1st baseman for us this year over Thomas.

Nothing doing for either team in the 5th. They had Kirk Dressendorfer, 1988-1990, on with Greg and Keith as Kirk was honored and jersey retired today.

Top 4th: Sthele gets pulled for LBJ. Sthele gave up 4 walks, 4 hits, 3 earned runs? Guessing LBJ isn't starting on Sunday. Bottom 4th: bad base running getting an out at 3rd. Brown does get a RBI double. Should've scored more in the bottom of the 4th IMO. After 4: 3-2 tech.

Game 2: thru 2.5 innings 1-0 tech. Sthele gave up a solo homer in the top of the 2nd. Should've have had some called balls called strikes in IMO in the top of the 3rd. We finally get a hit in the bottom of the 3rd from our catcher Galvan, who hits his 2nd homer. Got to make the tech starter throw more pitches. After 3: 1-1.

Got some interesting elite 8 games to see who is in the final 4. UConn vs. Gonzaga K-State vs. FAU Texas vs. Miami SDSU vs. Creighton I thought that if UConn could get to the sweet 16; they might be the favorite to get to the final 4. Is the point guard for K-State able to go in the game against FAU? This could be one of the most entertaining games to watch.

This is the opening series for big 12 play for Texas. Friday night recap. Gordon and the tech starter both got to the 6th inning before leaving. Former Texas player Kash hit a homer in the game. Texas got the lead in the 6th 3-2. Added 3 more runs in the 7th. Game 1 went to Texas 6-2. Texas is now on a 12 game win streak all on the current 14 game home stand. Tech came in at 17-4 taking 2 of 3 from Okie Lite last weekend. BTW, both Okie Lite and TCU were the preseason top 2 teams in the big 12. Both combime went 1-5 last weekend in opening conference series.

I don't think Tennessee wins their opening round game. Not a big fan of most of the Big 10+ teams and SEC teams. Won't be surprised if by the end of the weekend both conferences only have 1 maybe 2 teams left. The big 12 on the other hand could have 4-6 teams left. Don't be surprised if the big east and big 12 dominate the round of 16 with few others.

Thanks Joey for giving a lot better recap than i would've done. Hoping to be on a 11 game winning streak going into the tech series will be huge. I did see where New Orleans did/has been scoring plenty of runs, but haven't seen that the competition has been that good. Thoughts for the weekend? With Morehouse pitching does that limit him on Saturday? As far as innings/pitches? Thoughts on the team? I think the best way to describe them is scrappy. They will be better at the end of the season than where they are now. Hoping to see several of these guys (Cambell, Daly, and the freshmen) getting the batting average up to go with Powell, Kennedy, the catcher from USC, and Brown. The pitching has had it's ups and downs, but feel it is better than this time last year? Am i mistaken on this? Defensively, at least I know that Daly maybe is a shortstop, but he isn't Trey or David H. But if they put in the work it should improve.

It's the 2nd game with North Dakota State. Ace Whitehead is starting the game. The wind is blowing out, so might see some homers. Also, it's been 5 years today since Augie passed away and LHN has playing showing different stuff on him and will probably be getting some mentions throughout the game tonight.

Totally agree. How a team like aggy that got the #2 seed in the SEC and to their finals is only a 7th seed, but Kentucky gets a higher seed as does Tennessee, who lost their best player and lost what 5 of the final 8 games gets a 5 seed. This committee did the big 12 and other teams no favors in the seeding. I believe the 8/9 and 7/10 games are probably at best toss up games.
