When it comes to Casey and Card people need to realize both of these guys are inexperienced.  Give em a break and give Sark some time.

Spoke to one of my friends tonight. It was a short conversation but I got right to the point . . . what kind of damage did we do by crapping the bed today?
Friend zeroed in on Evan Stewart . . "in a way, it couldn't have gone better. He had already connected with Sark the evening before, I mean really connected. They spoke one-on-one for over an hour, even though there were lots of people around them also talking. They were just speaking to each other for a while with no interruption. I know that after the game it appeared Stewart saw how he could have helped win this game. It was not the negative effect (the loss) that it normally would have been. We'll see where it goes but I don't feel there was any damage at all with the Stewart recruitment."
"The rest, hard to say. I was paying close attention to Stewart most of the time."

I know i may be a sunshine pumper, but im also a realist that knows it takes a little time to rebuild a program.  I know we said this under Strong and under Herman, but this feels a little different. Nick Saban went 7-6 in year 1 at Bama, Dabo Swinney went 9-5 and then 6-6 in his 1st 2 years.  Once they got their players those programs took off. Does it suck to take losses as a fan? hell yes.  I do wish this team wouldve magically been a CC team this year, but this is basically the same team that got a coach fired last year.  It definitely is a team missing their 4 year QB leader who willed some wins last year.
Say all you want about the last 10 years, but this just feels different to me.  I think this staff knows what they need and I do believe they will get there.  It just may not be on the timeline we we're all unrealistically hoping for.  This is a process and I'm staying the course as a fan. I really do think it will be worth the wait

It definitely appears to be part of the problem.  Again though the offense not giving them a rest is part of that problem

Not good.  2 weeks we jump up early then choke.  This defense is awful

The reason I ask even though overshown is one of my favs he gets burned a lot too.  I realize he was injured this game.  But it seems like this happens a lot.  The defense appears undisciplined to me

In their defense, we pile up a bunch of 3 and outs. Offense is very much a part of this.

Why not? If I was a stud OL prospect, I'd definitely look at ou. I could play my whole college career without fear of being called for holding. As for going to aggie, I got nothing.

It was downright brutal to sit through that in the stands. I turned to my wife at halftime and told her that felt too easy and I was worried about the second half. I assumed that feeling was from years of disappointment in this game. Then I had to watch another loss play out.
I still believe in Sark and think he can lead this program in the right direction. However, he's going to need to bring in some help via the transfer portal and recruiting to address the clear flaws with this team. The O-line has essentially become a turnstile, and I give credit to Casey for putting up the stats he did behind that line. Honestly, I'm happy and somewhat surprised he didn't get hurt (besides dinging his wrist) in that 2nd half.
The defense is downright disappointing at this point. We just had a QB throw for 388 yards and 5 TDs. We also had a WR go for 261 yards and 3 TDs, and a RB go for 137 yards and 1 TD on the ground. We scored 48 points. I'm sorry, but that should be enough to win. The defensive line was supposed to be the strength of this team, and for the great majority of the season, they have been unable to get pressure on the QB. The DBs gave up multiple desperation heaves to a freshman QB that a competent secondary does not give up. The LBs have their own flaws, but they're the least of our problems right now.
As for Special Teams...just use common sense. On kickoffs, for the love of goodness, just fair catch it or take the touchback. Getting the ball at the 25 is just fine. On punts, if you can't catch it at the 10 yard line, let it go over your head and make the other team make a play to down it inside the 10. More times than not, it will be a touchback. It's not that hard. Admittedly, I know we're talking about kids and emotions get the best of these kids. Sometimes they make a decision they otherwise wouldn't make because they want to make a big play to help the team. I appreciate the passion and effort, but sometimes you have to live to fight another day, take the safe field position, and make a big play under more favorable circumstances.
