  1. Couldn’t see Traylor’s face but it appeared Sark said “I understand” 4 or 5 times in a row
  2. After careful consideration, I have decided to predict the Horns will win this game…by ALOT. Also, we might learn a little about this team in the process, but I think we will learn more about this team in the Alabama game. I remain cautiously optimistic for this season. At the same time, to quote other esteemed posters, “we suck until we don’t”.
  3. Interesting thought @java. Some of these kids may make more with NIL than they will on a rookie contract. It could keep more kids in school. If the kid is really good enough for the NFL, my guess is the NFL will pay what it takes to get them to leave. More than ever, These kids are really gonna need good and wise counsel…someone who only has their best interests in mind and not some money grubbing agent or family member.
  4. I agree that we suck until we don’t…but you need to give up on the idea that staying in the Big 12 is better for Texas. No one believes that and it’s just not true.
  5. When I was a kid, I went to a baseball clinic that featured Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford. Mick was pushing a new batting machine his neighbor was trying to sell to local little league programs. It was basically a lawn mower motor that spun a baseball on a rope. You would stand there and hit the ball and it would spin the ball back up…you could hit it over and over and never chase a ball. I literally had Mickey Mantle coach me hitting the ball. As a bonus, I even pitched to Whitey Ford and he gave me some tips. At the end of the day, they signed some autographs. I got them to sign my glove. That’s right, I had a glove with Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford’s autograph. What happened to it? Well, it was my glove. I used it everyday to play ball. After a month you could barely read the names. I traced over it a couple of times but eventually they were gone. it was a different time then…memorabilia wasn’t a thing. We put baseball cards in the spokes of our bicycles. I sure wish I still had that glove though…I’ll bet it would be worth something.
  6. Agreed. I didn’t mean our defense is good…
  7. Whether the glass is half full or half empty depends on if you are drinking or pouring.
  8. I paid for my child to go to Texas and she got 2 degrees… I believe we are second fiddle to everyone who is in the discussion for the National Championship. We shouldn’t be but we are and I am ready for that to change. I’m hopeful but my hopes have been smashed the last few years.
  9. Don’t hate me, but I’ve been watching these games and we just don’t look like we could play with tOSU, Utah, OU , Alabama, Georgia, etc. Maybe I’m just in a bad mood, but Texas just doesn’t pass the eyeball test for me. These teams are the best of the best and we just don’t measure up right now. We haven’t shown sufficient QB play, O-line, or WR play. These teams are just outstanding in these areas. I liked Casey but he hasn’t shown the goods. I just want to see Texas play elite level at the QB position. It just urinates me off to see Rising and Stroud throwing pinpoint passes to WRs making outstanding plays, behind and offensive line that protects the QB. Defenses in these games have been suspect at times and great at others…but when I watch, I see the greatest discrepancy on the offensive side of the ball. I’m depressed!! I just want the Horns to be in the discussion with the best teams in the country. I need 2022 to be a great year! Somebody throw me a life preserver!
  10. I have always believed that experience is a valuable commodity in HS and college sports. If a kid is a 3 or 4 year starter he will usually be a valuable contributor. That’s why “some” of these portal kids are getting serious interest. If they hit the portal with a year or 2 of starting experience, schools are looking hard at them. All that to say…I would love for the Horns to get a starting QB and keep him for 2/3 years. Seems like lately we have a new starting QB every year.
