  1. This is off topic, I apologize. There's a commercial on the LHN where these people are sitting around a campfire singing "The Eyes of Texas" while a man with silver hair plays his guitar to the tune. At the end the Texas Cowboys fire off the cannon. Can anybody tell me, who is the older guy playing the guitar? I figured it's some known musician, but I don't know who it is and my wife keeps asking me who it is. Thanks in advance to whoever can tell me.
  2. My father fought in WWII and attended UT on the GI Bill. Went on to get his JD from the UT Law School. He was EXTREMELY orange blooded. He used to say "If the University of Texas competes against another school in tiddlywinks, I damn well expect them to win!!" I suspect Bear may have a similar mindset...if Texas loses at any sport, it doesn't sit well with him.
  3. June Cleaver, upon realizing she has developed a yeast infection, says to her husband: "Ward...I'm worried about the Beaver!"
  4. First Big 12 series sweep by Texas since 2015...great job, Texas Longhorns!!
  5. Texas Football 2012: Paden Kelley Quits - Burnt Orange Nation I couldn't remember what happened to him; you made me look it up. He came out of Lake Travis at 6'6" 265. First Team All State as a Jr. and Sr. That sounds great; maybe that's why McWhorter was gushing.
  6. Ike Clanton: "How about I just wring your scrawny neck!"
  7. Making cuts carrying that much weight has got to put a lot of stress on his knees. Here's hoping from this point forward he can stay healthy!
  8. For a Mexican style breakfast, migas and huevos rancheros, the best place for decades was Cisco's on East 6th Street. I haven't eaten there since the early 90s...I'd like to think it's still just as good.
  9. Erick Fowler and The Shark on defense. I expected big things out of both when they first came to Texas and I still do.
  10. Shaggytexas - A message board based around University of ... I'm not a member there; I can't describe the place.
  11. The woman slapping Dr. McCoy is Julie Newmar a/k/a the original Catwoman. She was pretty hot back in her day!
  12. Thanks, Daniel, for all the great reportage you provided all weekend.
  13. I can't imagine the Baylor Administration...the currrent "powers that be"...are too pleased and happy about her comments. In light of all that has occurred there? Encourage people to hit other people in the face? Really? Mulkey has had a long run of success at Baylor; I'm sure she's paid a great salary. This really seems "not too smart" on her part, when you consider the Head Football Coach, Athletic Director, School President and Title IX Director all lost their jobs as a direct result of the sexual assault scandal. And her claims of being "in the know." Just not real smart there, Kim!
  14. You mean so Humphrey could do to him what he did to Rob Peters in the Tech game back in 1999? There's an old football saying of "driving a player into the turf" but I would say that's exactly what Humphrey did to Peters that night in a 58-7 win for the Horns. It was a payback game as Tech had upset the Horns in Lubbock the previous year. At least 2 or 3 times in the 1999 game, Humphrey got to Peters, picked him up and while in mid-air arched his back, then literally drove the Tech QB down into the turf. In the second half, Peters had to leave the game and was unable to start his final senior year home game in Lubbock the following week. I think Humphrey had 4 sacks in that "payback" game in 1999...I'll never forget it...great memory!
  15. Just like the aggies to talk shit...then end up eating it! Seriously, is there anybody that does that more than them?
  16. Congratulations and best of luck to you in moving forward!
  17. Of this there can be no doubt: aggies are obsessed with constantly inventing new ways and means by which they can claim what amounts to "faux" superiority. They just don't get it and they never will.
  18. I'm ready for the University of Texas to regain its traditional and historical position among the royalty of NCAA College Baseball.
  19. David Thomas had 10 receptions in Texas' NC winning Rose Bowl against USC on January 4, 2006. His clutch catches kept those crucial 4th quarter drives going and he played a key role in one of the biggest games in the history of University of Texas Football. Later, Thomas earned a Super Bowl ring with the Saints at the end of the 2009 season. Part of a NCAA national champion team; part of a Super Bowl winner in the NFL...that doesn't suck!
  20. I agree with what SHA posted...and the drinks are on him! Seriously, I always appreciated your posts, Juan...please come back.
