@joeywa, on the Austin news the other night, Pierce stated something to the effect that the pictures just need to throw strikes and whatever happens, happens. I'm thinking we could coach this team and split the millions say 50/50?

Texas was first going into today. 
After losing this first game, UT is 8-6 I believe, and drop to 3rd place behind West Virginia & KState, possibly behind Tech as well. 
 
Last place is Baylor.

Big 12 Standings

Not disagreeing with you, but sometimes, losing the middle week games is a matter of teams looking for that 4th and 5th starter. They may not need them now, but you will need them when it comes to tournament play.

Wednesday night - #17 Miami loses to FAU, #19 Arizona State loses to Arizona, and #20 Boston College gets run ruled at home by #15 UConn (who got beat by Northeastern on Tuesday night).
Thursday night conference games - #5 Arkansas gets beat by Georgia and #3 Florida gets run ruled by #6 South Carolina. 
That's losses by #1, #3, #4, #5 and #9 plus 9 more ranked teams losing. 14 teams in the top 25 lost, most to unranked schools and many to low tier schools. 
I won't keep beating the dead horse but just wanted to remind everyone that we see every wart on this Texas team but we don't know about the negatives of the other top schools as well. 

I see 3 teams in the Top 25 who went 4-0 but then again, who did they play? LSU lost 1 to Kentucky at home who was ranked in the Top 10 and has one of the strongest RPIs. I dog the $ec but to have 5 of the top 6 teams, no wonder they have some loses between themselves. 
You must be a politician, because it's more than a "down year" for the Big XII. 

Texas leads the way ranked 14th with Tech at 16th. TCU and Oklahoma State just dropped out of the rankings. It is a down year in the league. Texas needs to find a way to take home the conference championship. Losses will hurt RPI big time against the teams ranked low, especially if at home.
 
I found the new top 25 interesting. Lots of losses from teams in the top of the rankings. Only 1 team in the top 25 went 4-0 last week. Quite a few went 2-2 or 3-2. Just good to keep perspective that in college baseball there aren't many overly dominant teams and most everyone will reach the end of the season with 10 or more losses.

There is not a true closer right now. Morehouse is not proving to be the answer. While it’s easy to point fingers at the coaching staff, (and they’re not above some criticism,) at some point it’s up to the kid with the ball on the mound to show up and not walk multiple batters. 9 runs on the board and a 4-run leaded headed B9 should be more than enough cushion for a team and pitcher to close it out. The last two nights, the late bullpen has floundered, and that needs to corrected ASAP.

Blue likely gets a pass publicly, but probably gets a talking to from his superiors behind the scenes after the game and ejections are reviewed. I don’t know that the ejection was egregious enough for an ump to be refused participation in the post season. And I don’t believe a complaint was filed, at least I haven’t heard of that. 

First, I don't mind doing it. I just don't try to do inning by inning like Joey did. I loved when Joey did it, but I also love watching or listening to the baseball team as much as 95% of the other Texas sports both men and women sports. Just not a fast typer and if nothing happens for a few innings then most of the time very little is missed.
Secondly, the idiotic NCAA has a rule in place that if a player os ejected from a game then he sits out the next game. It's on the same dumbass level as the targeting call in football IMO.
For Pierce to sit out he would have had to say something considered unprofessional like a couple of years ago, I believe, in the big12 tournament.
Unless Texas filed a complaint and gets the big12 to agree that the ump was in the wrong on a call, he gets a pass I guess, but the NCAA might not let him make calls in the regionals, super regionals, or the CWS.  But @ Joeywa any iinsight on this? As I will defer to you on this.

One would have to assume  1st ump. called time. He should have stepped up and corrected situation.

Funniest thing I ever had happen was ump. bent over sweeplng home plate and a runner frpm third slid home knocking broom from his hand. Ump. forgot to call time.

That ump was an idiot. What happens if Thomas hits a single while the trainer is looking at Daly?
They probably don’t address that in the rule book.  I say toss Blue.

5-0 vs TT/ags/Pokes. I felt 3/4 with no sweeps in this 7-game stretch would be a good showing. So far the team is doing much better than that. Still some things to clean up, and we caught a bit of a break vs TT w/Beckel being suspended, but I’ll take it.

The broadcast had Peterson who does almost all of ESPNs college baseball games and the CWS. Good broadcaster. They aren't SEC specific at all.
