It usually doesn't look that easy, but Texas baseball made quick work of the Coral Gables regional, sweeping their way through the bracket and advancing to their 3rd straight Super Regional. The 10-6 victory over the Hurricanes on Sunday evening is David Pierce's 12th straight regional win. The Longhorns will await the winner of the Palo Alto regional, where Texas A&M and Stanford are the two teams remaining.

Miami struck quickly against Texas starter Tanner Witt, who was making his 4th start since returning from Tommy John surgery. Witt opened the top of the 2nd inning by hitting back to back batters before allowing a 3-run homer for Dominic Pitelli. Down 3-0, Texas responded quickly in the bottom of the 3rd. Jack O'Dowd opened the inning with single and Mitchell Daly followed with a walk. Jared Thomas then ripped a RBI double into RF and Peyton Powell drove in a pair with a single to tie the game. Dylan Campbell kept the rally going with a single of his own before Garrett Guillemette ripped a 2-run double to give Texas their first lead of the game at 5-3. Following walks to Porter Brown and Eric Kennedy, Jalin Flores put an exclamation point on the inning with a grand slam to dead centerfield to stretch the lead to 9-3.

Charlie Hurley settled things down for Texas on the mound, throwing 4 scoreless innings in relief before running out of gas in 7th and allowing a 3-run homer to Yohandy Morales to cut the Texas lead to 10-6 after the Longhorns had scored on a bases loaded HBP the prior half inning. The Hurricanes would never get any closer though, as Zane Morehouse threw 2.2 innings of scoreless relief to close things out. Morehouse struck out 7.
