Texas Baseball's regular season has three Big 12 Conference series remaining before the conference tournament and postseason play begin. The first of those series is against the Oklahoma State Cowboys this weekend at Disch-Falk Field. It's an important series for both programs, who are jockeying for position in terms of national seeding for regionals, but both teams still have a shot at a conference championship as well.
As it stands now, both the Longhorns and Cowboys are projected to host regionals, but headed down the stretch the stakes are high and wins go a long way toward positioning in post-regular season play.
Texas will enter Friday's game riding a five game winning streak, capped off by a 7-2 road victory over the UTRGV Vaqueros on Tuesday night. The Cowboys defeated Wichita State 12-6, also on the road last Tuesday.
Last season in Stillwater, the Longhorns went 2-1 against the Pokes, winning the series. Oklahoma State beat Texas in their lone matchup in the Big 12 Tournament last season, with the Cowboys advancing to the championship game against eventual winner TCU.
Texas ace Pete Hansen will get the nod on the mound in Game 1. Hansen is an almost-perfect 7-1 on the season with a 2.70 ERA.
