The 2022 season has been one to remember for Ivan Melendez. The redshirt junior has rewritten the history books at Texas and was named a finalist for the Golden Spikes award Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Spikes award is given to the best college baseball player in the country.
Melendez was named one of three finalist, along with Oregon State pitcher Cooper Hjerpe and Georgia Tech catcher Kevin Parada. The winner will be announced June 24th during the College World Series.
