  1. Sark mentioned he would be meeting with Sean Mcvay during a trip to California in order to "find a few more touchdowns". In other words, talk shop with one of the best offensive minds in the game to try and take away a few new schemes. I'm not sure what else there is to say about it.

  3. Struggled with the decision to enter the portal not where he was going, imo. I honestly never thought he was coming here and was ok with that The part I don't like is that someone like Riley will never have to really "coach" and develop players which, imo, would show him to be a fraud.

Agree but I still don’t see how Sark would get touches for everyone. As long as Sark is the coach we’re going to be in the race for the top offensive skilled guys, so I just don’t get wrapped up in any one guy. Would I want Addison……absolutely but I just not that worried about the offensive skilled guys. I am more worried about how the offensive line comes together and how long that is going to take and how well we’re going to play defense. We’ll see pretty soon.

  9. Good statement here by David Pierce. We’ve seen these “teams” in football cancel games because they didn’t want to play and now we’re seeing it in baseball to try to manipulate their post season standings. It’s just not right in my opinion. I’ve rooted for Texas for a really long time and I wouldn’t expect anything less than what Pierce said he.

  12. My bold prediction if Addison picks Texas: Texas will avg 540ypg this coming season. Predicting 14 games (12reg, B12CC, Bowl game) Bijan - 130ypg (100rush and 30rec) = 1400rsh & 420rec) Rojo - 50ypg = 700rsh Addison - 90ypg = 1260rec Worthy - 80ypg = 1120rec Neyor - 60ypg = 840rec Whittington - 50ypg = 700rec Others (TE, other RB & WR) - 80ypg = 1120ypg Total ypg x14 = 7560ypg I know it all depends on the OL, but they will be much improved this year. Just a feeling. They will get knocked around by Bama in week 2 for sure, but they will be a lot better against the B12 opponents and other NonConf games. I might be a little drunk right now so I'm feeling optimistic.

    NIL and Collectives

But how can it be against state law. Why would the state care? Oh... I forgot... that great arbiter of high school sports (the UIL) doesn't like it. There is no state law that says a guy who starts a band in high school can't make money. There isn't a state law that says you can't get an acting job in high school. If the fools are stupid enough to give high school athletes money for NIL, you know what they say: "A fool and his money"... People care too much about this stuff. I'm one of them that cares too much. But my caring doesn't extend to my wallet. I wouldn't pay a plug nickel to get a player to play for a high school or college and I don't own an NFL team. There are better ways to spend money.

Current Standings: Projected Standings: Michigan 1210.25 Texas 1368.25 Stanford 1079.25 Stanford 1302.75 Texas 843.5 Michigan 1232.25 Despite being the current leader, I do expect Michigan to fall to 3rd place when all is said and done. They have been eliminated in both golf tournaments, softball and won't make the baseball tournament. Their track and field teams will score a few points but won't be included in their top 19 sports. Rowing will likely have a top 10 finish and add to their score but otherwise they are done. Stanford has continued to put together solid NCAA finishes and has increased their previously predicted score by about 85 points. With a fortunate draw in the softball regionals, that team has a chance to make the CWS and greatly overachieve for a team that was just outside of the top 25 most of the season. They continue to perform like the #1 women's golf team and a Championship there would be the expectation and not surprising. If they trip up in match play, they would end up dropping points from their predicted score. A top 3 finish in rowing is also expected. Men's baseball has also risen through the ranks and looks poised for a CWS run. Like their softball team, they were outside of the top 25 mid-season but have really turned it on lately. Men's golf and both track and field teams will likely post solid finishes but won't do much to increase the overall score based on other sports that have concluded. Texas clearly has work to do. Do remember, Texas has only had 13 sports complete their seasons so far and have 6 blank spots on their scorecard (Michigan and Stanford have both filled up their scorecards and then some). Texas looks to add some big numbers in these empty spots. Women's T&F and Rowing are strong favorites for championships while men's track will battle Alabama for the crown. Women's golf, Men's Golf and Softball are still competing but have set pretty high floors for themselves with guaranteed finishes no worse than 15th, 36th and 9th. Baseball is a bit of a wildcard but as a likely 2 seed in a regional, a #17 overall finish would be expected. Stanford's rise through the rankings in several sports will make this a tight finish but I still see Texas coming out on top. A series of Texas failures plus Stanford exceeding current expectations would be required for the Cardinal to re-claim their crown.

  18. His coach said a while back there was no timetable for a decision. My interpretation of that was him helping keep as much pressure off of Arch as possible as opposed to that being a true statement. Summer still makes the most sense to me, and I don't think the timing of Owens eliminating Georgia was all that coincidental.

  19. The Hispanic Titanic is having perhaps the best offensive season in Texas baseball history. He is also leading across numerous NCAA offensive categories and will be a strong contender for the Dick Howser (5th for Texas - Scott Bryant, Brooks Kieschnick x2, Jungman) and Golden Spikes Awards (1st for Texas). Current NCAA ranks - HRs 1st, 7th batting avg (2nd among major colleges), 4th on base percentage (2nd among major colleges), 2nd RBIs, 2nd slugging percentage, 1st total bases. Without a doubt, the best slugger in the league. All Time Texas ranks - 2nd batting average, 1st slugging%, 1st on base%, 2nd in HRs (on pace for #1 with 30) , 9th RBIs (on pace for #3 with 89), 8th Total Bases (on pace for #1 with 202). If he continues at his current pace, you'd be hard pressed to name a Texas batter who had a better season at the plate (predicted finishes are assuming Texas goes 0-2 in Big 12 and regional, more games and more stats are more likely).

  25. Sort of funny. Saban threatened. By a team with a vast history of mediocrity. They doth protest too much. Must have hit pretty close to home. And basically all Saban said was "if that's the way you want to play, we can too. And of course remember we do everything better than you... with the exception of animal husbandry."

  26. From where I sit, status quo with Cook; it will be A&M or Texas. He's going to chill and enjoy the process as much as possible (very clear in that YouTube video he published he likes being recruited) up until Manning makes a decision. He's been to both schools numerous times, so Michigan and others are free trips, but ultimately he'll take officials to Austin and College Station.

A solid round 3 at 4 under puts Texas through to Scottsdale with a 4th place finish. Travis Vick finished at 10 under overall and in 2nd place for the tournament. Stanford will advance as well. Michigan did not even make the regionals. 15 seed Notre Dame will be eliminated and #9 seed Washington is in trouble with less than 9 holes remaining and sitting in 8th place. Otherwise, not much in the way of shocking upsets.

Lol interesting spin "controversial ex-USC football coach steals lead"
    3 points
  32. Irregardless of what the coach does the year before; all coaches are to be evaluated for the current year results. Now, some could blame the umps for the strike zone, but the lack of development of the young pitchers is unbelievable. Irregardless of Lucas Gordon becoming the 2nd starter. Stevens removing himself from starter to relief pitcher? Nixon going from a plus closer to an unknown reliever and multiple of relief pitchers with no known role falls on the pitching coach/head coach for not having an idea of who and how to use the pitchers and when to make changes. None of this is due to Witt being hurt. But the coaches and the players ahould have been able to adjust and none didn't. Don't throw the players under the bus without throwing the coaches for failing to adjust due to injuries. Injuries can happen at anytime and coaches should be able to adjust, and get the players to adjust and they didn't.

I think he was going to USC from the start. Had to play the I’m looking around game to take the heat off Riley. Having said that……..we are as loaded from top to bottom at WR, TE, Slot than I think I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. If Sark is the top offensive guy in the country as most think, then we’re going to light up some scoreboards. I’m not for sure if Addison had come to Texas if he could have kept everyone happy with enough touches. We might have had some of our guys looking to leave. We got some pretty good running backs so they have to have a lot of touches too. So I wasn’t too upset when he picked USC as I thought he would from the start.

  40. Gotcha. I am also seeing others comment that makes me think some are confused and think that the 85 scholarship limit is going away. Football is certainly the bell cow and the rising tide that will lift all the other ships. When it comes to scholarships, I think the school can afford to fund max scholarships across the board (due to profit made by football) while still pouring plenty of resources into the football program. To your point, the NIL focus should remain on football and I'm sure it will. I do like the idea of Texas dominating the sports landscape across the board though, and I think we have the resources to be able to pull that off.
