  2. There's a rumor going around the net today that Brini (Georgia) is coming to Texas. Arkansas, the other major contender, has stopped following him on social media. We'll see. Would be a big time pick up.

  3. Expectations are sky high for Texas baseball following a trip to the College World Series in 2021. The Longhorns have been ranked as the #1 team in the country heading into the 2022 season, according to D1baseball.com. Texas returns much of their roster from the 2021 season, including Pete Hansen, Tanner Witt, Tristan Stevens, Ivan Melendez, Mitchell Daly, Trey Faltine, Eric Kennedy, Doug Hodo and Silas Ardoin. The Longhorns will also welcome back Austin Todd and Andre Duplantier from injuries. Texas kicks off the 2022 season at Disch Falk Field on February 18th as they open a 3-game series against Rice.

You aren't limited to 7 portal transfers a year. You are limited to 25 "initial counters" - or in other words, 25 scholarship players attributed to a recruiting cycle year. These 25 can be HS, Grad transfer or portal transfer. The 7 you are referring to is regarding a NCAA ruling that allows for up to 7 additional transfers to replace players who have transferred away from your program. So it essentially becomes 25 + 7 (if you have had 7 outgoing transfers). Difficulty from a fan perspective, we never really know which recruits are being counted in what way. Some recruits are back counted to previous recruiting classes. Some may blue shirt or grey shirt. This isn't typically publicly available information which is why you will see so much confusion on boards like this regarding numbers. With such confusing rules and limited public information, I have stopped paying much attention to the numbers and just let things play out.

  15. Steve Sarkisian continues to upgrade his offense through the transfer portal this offseason. The latest addition announced his commitment to Texas Thursday morning as Wyoming transfer WR Isaiah Neyor pledged to the Longhorns. Neyor, who just wrapped up his sophomore season, hauled in 44 passes for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2021. The Arlington native will likely immediately cement his place in the WR rotation alongside Xavier Worthy, Jordan Whittington, Marcus Washington and Kelvontay Dixon. Neyor joins Quinn Ewers, Ryan Watts and Jahleel Billingsly as transfers who have joined the Texas program.

  20. That was just their opinion, but here's the breakdown: Latavious Brini started 11 of National Champion Georgia's 15 games at STAR/nickel this past season. He was leap-frogged late in the year, but he's still a very solid, experienced player. How experienced? He was in the Jake Fromm / D'Andrew Swift 2017 Georgia class. Though one of the lowest rated players in that No 3 class, he stuck to the plan and rewarded himself with a lifetime of memories as a bona-fide starter on one of the best defenses we've seen in CFB this century. He entered the transfer portal on Thursday as a graduate and UT is pursuing. IT isn't sure of UT's standing or who the competition is, but he's seen as a starter somewhere in UT's secondary. He had 8 PBU's this year at nickel. By comparison, Anthony Cook had only 3, but he had 20 more tackles. Different roles, imo. Either Brini could play nickel and Cook could move to safety, or vice versa. At 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, Brini has much more size than Cook.

  21. I won't officially (to myself, I guess) close the book on this class until the last member has announced. At that time, I will then go to the 24/7 team rankings and see that we have jumped Ohio State into the #4 position. And I will be happy.

Wyoming is a run first offense with 2 QBs splitting time. His 878 yards and 12 TDs are crazy high for a RS-Freshman. Wyoming only threw the ball 23 times a game compared to 29 for Texas. But Neyor had 42% of their receiving yards and 80% of their TDs. He was their only receiving threat in a run-first offense. No one else had even 300 yards receiving. If he really is 6'3" 215 then he can be a monster here.

  37. First and foremost. If I was making $10 or more a year. Then yes I could find a place just outside of Norman, like Riley apparently did with 2 places because i don't want to pay the 13+% state tax on the $10 to the new age version of Al Capone in Newsome as governor. No matter the location, one has to go by the homeless, illegals, drug dealers, drug addicts, and gangs to get to USC. Besides I've had family in OK. I know that Enid with a air force/navy base for flight training is there and know places in Norman that are still cleaner than the cesspool in LA. But to each their own. I guess. Even most military in today's world hates to be in CA and dealing with the fake woke dipshits in charge. I do know that for a FACT!

  40. Yes, there will be dozens and dozens of portal options. This goes on for months. Nobody is failing at anything. We do not need any more DL. The room is full. We do not need another CB. And we have our safeties. We're after one WR and one LB. There is plenty of time to get both. I would imagine the WR and LB we take haven't even entered the portal yet.

  41. And when that happens, college football for all practical purposes is gone. It will be replaced with NFL- lite. Soon, players won’t even need to pretend to be students; let alone actually darken a classroom.
