Swoopes will improve by next year as well and you don't bench an experienced starter unless there is a significant improvement by Heard.  Heard will play when and if Swoopes stumbles.

Heard lovers should not despair, however, as Heard could very well win the job in the fall.

How about us putting this discussion to bed - it's been re-hashed enough and this is just my prediction of the depth chart, anyway..

If anyone has their own predictions - let's hear 'em.

Kicker and Punter? Rose and Russ?

Russ was a senior I believe. Nick Jordan comes off a medical RS year and hopefully will have improved since we last saw him place kicking. Rose was a good kickoff specialist a few years ago and can resume that duty if Jordan wins the PK job. No clue who is available to punt, I think they recruited a women's soccer player for next season.

QB - Braxton Miller (I'm an optimist)

         Jerrod Heard

         Tyrone Swoopes

         Logan Vinklarek

         Zach Gentry* (RS)

         Matthew Merrick* (RS)

You should quit obsessing over the QB and, perhaps, turn your attentions to the OL.  I'm a big believer in experience - even if the player has less abilities than his backup.  We've had a year now - with a few OL.  Let's hope this makes a difference in our offensive play.

To copy/paste in the posting editor:

There are 3 clipboards in the top row of icons (right-side end of the row). Select which function (of those three) you want to use and click the icon. A pop-up window will appear and you paste you copied text in that window.

The rest is magic.  :P

Actually, I'm even more obsessed with the offensive game plan and play-calling.

A source more knowledgeable than anyone on this board - a Steelers scout - said O-Line play improved over the course of the season. Taylor Doyle was an upgrade at center. Can they play better? Sure, but I just don't buy into the rhetoric that they were incompetent.

Yes, better line play will make a difference but I don't know if it improves Swoopes passing accuracy much. He was often a step late, low, or behind his intended targets.

Matt - I have some data from a word program on my PC desktop that I am trying to copy and paste on a new topic over here.  No can do - or, at least, I can't figure out how to do it.  I found the three icons, but I don't understand how it works.  I am a UT Magna and still too dumb to figure out this damned stuff.

That's exactly what I do and it doesn't work.

I participate on some other boards and when I do it on them it works every time. This is the only board it doesn't work on.

We're DOA if Swoopes is under center @ Notre Dame.

Malik is a starter from Day 1, huh? I hope he's that good. Where is Edwin Freeman, Derick Roberson, and Chris Nelson on your depth chart?

He's got Roberson listed at TE. Don't think a position switch is in the cards for him. Listed as a DE on the roster so either that or OLB I would think.

Another more knowledgeable source than any one on this board on another site said the exact opposite about the O-line, that they got worse over the course of the season.

So even the "experts" disagree :)

Do those steps, but instead of pasting it into the editor, click the clipboard icon with the "W" on it. When the empty box appears, right click in it and "paste" into that box. Then click "ok" - it will preserve all your formatting from Word.

Dalton,

Only paste the string of numbers into the Twitter box. You don't need the entire link (only the numerical ID).
