Oklahoma was paying players considerable sums of money beginning in the late 40s when Bud Wilkinson was coach. They have always been cheats of the worst kind. They won that NC in 1950 by beating Texas 14-13 after the Texas punter dropped the ball trying to punt from the red zone late in the 4th quarter. OU scored the late touchdown and won by 1 point. All of those record winning streaks were a result of cheating. That is just what they did.

 

And OU still sucks.
