Baseball adds Juco Player from Navarro

SOunds like the kid might be a goiod asset to the team. How common is it for JUCO guys to come aboard??

In baseball, it happens every year. Texas will get its based roster filled from the High School guys and then fill a need with a Juco. Weston will be here in the fall.

Here is some more info on Weston;

“He is a very, very athletic kid,” Navarro coach Whoa Dill said. “He can really play outfield with a good arm. He can really track them down. He's 6-1. He's probably 195 pounds. Strong kid. He's hit two or three home runs for us so far. He can really bunt. He can swing it. He’s a great athlete. Hall is going to do the small things and steal a ton of bags.”

Kid seems like a good grab for Texas. Nice batting average and good speed it sounds like. What's the learning curve between JUCO ball and Division 1 ball?

It all depends on the kid. The biggest adjustment is timing, as evidenced by Landon Steinhagen this year. It took him a while to adjust to Division I pitching, but now that he seems to have found his timing, he's really turning it on.
