HorninHouston
Undoubtedly a puppet from aggyland. I say we make 'em sweat it out a year or two just for giggles.

HorninHouston
Honestly a game at Jerryworld would be fun. That way we would not have to subject Texas fans to Candyland. Or Aggyland. Or whatever they call it.

Topstarr
I would love to see us play the Aggy's starting in 2015......I think we will have enough punch to take care of them in all sports. HOOK'EM and break their thumbs off.
Randolph Duke
Fu@k the ags. Let them meet us in a bowl game. Don't forget aggy has four OOC games while we have only three. If we put them back on the schedule it makes us the only team in FBS other than So. Cal and Stanford that effectively has two OOC games to help with exposure and recruiting. Brasky
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! It's a lose-lose. We're supposed to beat them because we did at a ridiculously lopsided clip and if we lose it's another selling point for them when all they have now is SEC-SEC-SEC. Beatting them is meaningless. utisdabomb12
If we played them in basketball it would be bad. A&M is losing to a 7-12 South Carolina team by 32 points as I type this.

Texas-Texas A&M rivalry to be renewed at neutral site in 2013? | College Sports Blog | Sports News | News for Dallas, Texas | The Dallas Morning News Well, it's a little late to work on that 2013 scheduling. I don't see the need to play aggy but any neutral site better be in a bowl, sec aggy won't be making any playoffs, Horns will be there pretty quick. Speedway
Lose - lose for UT. Not smart to schedule them. Game never was on the same level as OU. If we need another real rival bring Arkansas back.
RealtorHorn
If we beat them at the same rate we are used to, I believe it sells the message that aggy is still aggy and will always be aggy. There is nothing coincidental about them leaving the big 12/joining the SEC, ending the rivalry, getting a new coach, getting new jerseys, and stomping ass in recruiting all at the same time. It's topical, no substance. But the media and the teenagers don't see it like that, or they don't care. If they continue to lose to SEC teams, they are awesome. If we smash them 7 out of 10 years like normal, they're still aggy. I truly believe this would still have se weight in this state.
Hooked_up
I don't care about another program outside of us. Let us get back to doing what we do. Talk about that another few years from now.
pompomman
I think winning 10-12 games a year will make the entire discussion moot. We will go back to stomping them in recruiting and be in the hunt for BCS bowls and for the playoffs. Having said that, I wouldn't mind beating them most years and putting to rest the notion that the SEC is so very dominant. At least in our state, that would help us leap forward to recruiting dominance. But by the time we got them on the schedule (2015 or 2016) we should hope that will already be true of us. Juan
Another from former player Vance. HornEsch
I'll be honest, I miss the game. The hatred and the passion from the fan bases are always fun to watch. I don't care about the reasons on getting back our mojo in recruiting against them or anything else, I just want to game back. Just like the ou game, it is just one of those games that we should be playing.

This is NOT the the best time to start trolling the fanbase and getting people wanting to shut you up by seeing you run off the campus. Someone needs to have a talk with him and explain a few things to him. I guess I am missing where he is trolling the fan base. A lot of fans want the game back and others simply don't care. Only a few really "hate" the idea of playing them again and for the life of me I can't understand why.
Juan
Clearly a coordinated effort. I've been hearing that Patterson has been pushing hard for the rivalry to come back. Have no problem with anything Vance said. If so, Vance is your guy. None of the others have the bonafides, esp not Koening, as pointed out above. And I think you are right, Patterson is in the same place as Vance. I wonder if they have actually taken the time to discuss this? Or, whether it is just homegrown Vance? I don't know. I would put it in the 20-questions but mine get ignored. (zing)
utisdabomb12
IMO I think it's definitely something that's been discussed between Patterson and the staff. I could tell by the way Bedford worded his Tweet last night, that more was coming. Something about it tells me this isn't Bedford really interested in getting peoples opinions.......this is more of a strategic move to push A&M in the direction of getting the rivalry back. Also, if Patterson had a problem with what Bedford was tweeting last night I'm sure Patterson would have given him a call. Reading between the lines, I think this is a coordinated effort by the staff to get the A&M and Texas game back. Coincides too with the rumors I've been hearing about Patterson pushing hard for the rivalry to come back. You put enough pressure and keep constructing this narrative it will be hard for A&M to deny playing us.
Juan
If so, it is clever, I will give Patterson that. But .... I am still against it. Strongly.
