Every time Aggy gets a commit, UT fans are in meltdown mode. It's the standard line for all aggy writers.

The funny thing is I remember when Mack Brown starting kicking aggy ass in recruiting the aggy's would say the same things then that we are saying now. Bottom line the worm has turned and let us not forget Mack had a great run with great recruits & average coaching. If aggy continues to land this talent they will win. which means getting even more talent.

Looks like Kemah siverand might pull the trigger tomorrow too

Saw that as well.  Apparently announcing at 2:55 tomorrow.  Likely correlates to the Murray news today and especially if Kemah is announcing the day after he released his 18 team list with A&M in the top slot.  Texas needs 2 receivers this year after taking 6 or whatever the total was in February.  Get 2 of Newsome, Strickland, Dillon, Proche, Burt and call it a day.

Need to see some defensive commits fall for Charlie soon and ideally Omenihu's reaffirmation tonight helps the cause.

One of the two needs to be Newsome. He's special.

Newsome, Burt, and Strickland would be a solid haul. This state produces enough talent to field 2 solid programs, I have a feeling both of our schools will have perennial 9-10 win programs within the next couple of years. However, I do expect this commitment to have some effect in this 2015 class, as did the Garrett Gilbert commit in 2009. In this state, a combination of rings and stats make you a legend amongst us football diehards and the tales of how good these players are do resonate amongst recruits. The QBs in this state that have succeeded at the college level have generally had amazing success in high school and generated buzz for their collegiate choices because of it.

Aggies have had 4-5 1st round picks the last 2 years. . . .and they didn't win .. . .

Murray never was coming to TEXAS though I thought he'd go to Oregon. . . .

I think we have seen that recruiting rankings can be very misleading. . . .I'll let some real football happen before I panic.

PS, Newsome lives in a Burnt Orange house. . .level 2. . . .

As opposed to those quarterbacks who failed miserably in high school and were snapped up by major programs only to succeed at the college level.

It is pretty much a given that the kids who succeeded at the college level did well in high school. Doing well in high school is why they got their opportunity at the college level.

I meant in terms of the playoffs and leading their teams. VY made it to the semis, Reggie won a state champ at Lufkin, same for Dalton, Gilbert had 2 rings (best HS QB I've seen), McGee to the finals, Harrell has a ring, Heard has two rings, Murray has two, RG3 went to the finals etc..The elite QBs will lead even the most devoid team of talent out of the regionals into the final 4 of their state in their respective classifications at least once in their 4 years of high school ball. These are the players that recruits flock to within the state. Either you grab the kid that is good enough to win a state title in the state or the best out-of-stater you can, as long as you weren't a 4-8 team the year before the studs should come. Murray's tape, pedigree, mechanics, and winning are all in a class of their own amongst anybody to come out of the state in awhile, only a fool would think this wouldn't have an effect on other top recruits in the state and possibly the nation. I've believed for awhile now in the philosophy that elite QBs will start their winning ways well before college ball, it is the biggest reason why I feel that Heard will succeed for ya'll and Swoopes will never become what he was touted to be.

IS IT JUST ME?  although, it is a very well known fact that kyler's much heralded father kevin attended atm.  it was also widely suspected, that young kyler would eventually follow upon his father's footsteps... to lead the aggies, into the next dimension.  imo, for some strange reason, kyler murray, just does not fit atm.  i have been a BIG FAN of allen high school for just a few years now.  i love to watch their big rivalry match ups.  they have the very famous ALLEN EAGLE ESCADRILLE " the largest high school band in the entire world".  and along with tons of diversification, liberalism, and just a very well rounded community of love and atmosphere.  allen high school, is just a very special place, as per any school age kid to learn, live, and grow.

actually, if truth were to be told, i have always felt after watching many of allen high school's gridiron match ups, with kyler at the helm of quarterback.. that he would be a perfect fit at TEXAS!  once again, is it just me?

I agree with this and is why I have an issue with Swoopes possibly being the starter if Ash is unhealthy. As phenomenal an athlete as he is, his teams were atrocious! I've never seen a high school team with a qb as dynamic as Swoopes not have that ability results in wins...Whitewright went 1-9 his senior year....and they're 3A

What happens if he get a big baseball offer?

If he gets a good draft slot and and a big contract, he'll go pro out of HS.

This is just my opinion, but I believe he and his family realize his future is in baseball.

No matter how well he does in CFB, he won't be a top draft choice due to his size.

I said, on TOS, a couple of years ago that JM should have stayed with baseball. I think, and still do, he would have made more money over a longer career

in the show than in the league.
