Actually, it doesn't look like football. Our baseball team has shown significant improvement this year. After thinking about my post above, I thought I should explain a little bit. The team has won more games this year than last, and we still have 8 remaining, plus Big12 tourney. They have bested several offensive categories compared to last season's total numbers, again with games still to be played. The mind set on this team is not like the last couple of years. They're playing team baseball, and are fighting until the end. No quit. Even today, being down 6 runs, the team was battling until the last out. Last season the team folds after the 4th inning. utisdabomb12

You aren't even going to wait to see what the team does come tournament time? At least give Augie a chance. If they lose in the regionals call for his head all you want. Sometimes it seems like fans are more worried about firing the coach then enjoying this season (if you haven't noticed we have a pretty good season going). streettopeschel

strick
Bohls comments - overreaction or spot on? No way to sugarcoat it, the Texas baseball team is in trouble. The Longhorns have fallen from first to fourth place in the Big 12. After sweeps of Baylor and Oklahoma, they are back in a hitting funk — three extra-base hits in three games, all coming on Sunday — and are in danger of losing one of the eight national top seeds. They have scored eight runs in their last two series with two road series remaining at West Virginia and Kansas State. They still have an attractive 7 RPI and a respectable 5-4 record against Top 25 opposition, but they are slumping at the wrong time with five losses in their last six Big 12 games. … Hope Augie Garrido chewed out Texas freshman catcher Tres Barrera for failing to hustle out a ground ball a la Bryce Harper to prolong a fifth-inning rally Sunday when Oklahoma State’s third baseman bobbled the ball. I realize it was one play, but one play that typified the Cowboys’ hustle shortly after was left fielder Gage Green’s sliding catch of a popup in foul territory to extinguish a two-on, no-out Texas threat in the seventh.
