Texas will sign a monster class in 2015 from a numbers perspective (could be as high as 30).

Current pledges:

Some of the guys Texas will push hard for:

  • Kendall Sheffield -DB, (Thurgood Marshall, Missouri City, TX)
  • Demarcus Lodge - WR (Cedar Hill)
  • Soso Jamabo - RB/ATH (Plano West)
  • Malik Jefferson - OLB (Mesquite Poteet)

From a QB perspective, guys like Kyler Murray and Kevin Dillman are guys that are getting looks (along with guys like Jarrett Stidham). Dillman is Heard's successor at Denton Guyer. Doesn't hold an offer from Texas yet but he will get one eventually.

I'm not one to be tied to star rankings - but we really need to get some big time talent out of the 2015 class. Hopefully Strong can grab one of the 5 stars from here in Texas (out of the 4 total, two are already committed - LSU & AtM), and work the Florida pipeline to get a big time recruit from out there.

Of the top 17 rated players in Texas - AtM has commits from 6 of them. Strong better get to work.

CRS seems to have a high motor when it comes to work. The effort will be there, I suspect.

I hope we can hang onto Vahe now that the Te^$(# brothers switched to LSU.

I think we have a good shot but if Florida State offers him then I would be getting a little antsy. He'll pull a ton more offers this year.

Do we make a run at daylon Mack? I know he's committed to aggie, heard he grew up a horns fan.

I think Texas has good shot at him. I also heard he was a Longhorn fan growing up. He also recently said Texas got a good one in the D-line coach from Alabama (Rumph). I have a good feeling he will seriously consider flipping if Strong and Rumph go after him hard. Just my opinion.

I didn't catch all the recruiting chat lately but just wanted to pass along info on Lanfear. He attended A&M junior day. He is still moderately committed to the Horns. As of last weekend he hadn't spoken to anyone from the new coaching staff which probably weakened his commitment a bit. Plus he's got a lot of aggy fans in the family. With that said they are supportive of him making his decision and won't pressure him away from Texas. His sister posted a pic of him today wearing Horns apparel so he's definitely still onboard

Mack is a guy that Texas needs to push for all season long. Rumph and Strong need to live in Gladewater. Not only is Mack one of the best DTs to come out of the state in a couple of years, but he's a Jake Raulerson type leader of the class. I don't think it's impossible to switch him, but we are going to need Strong to have a really good first year and aggy to drop off to have a chance IMO. The fact that we do have a new coaching staff has opened the door slightly. Had we kept Mack and the previous staff we would have had zero shot.
