Lord Vader
The guy can still recruit, and lets be realistic. The last time Texas really (and I mean REALLY) used the TE was under Greg Davis. During that time, we churned out David Thomas, Jermichael Finley, and we were on our way with Blaine Irby when he got injured. From there, we went to the Harsinwhitewhatever the hell offense and didnt use the TE. Now we've got a bunch of blockers and not pass catchers. Also, on the VERY rare occasion we used the TE lately, things went well. I have no problem with Chambers being retained. All I care about is we find an offensive identity and STICK TO IT. One reason we are such a damn mess on offense is Mack changing the system every year. How can you recruit to a system when the system ALWAYS changed? It'll be fine guys and gals. Less rabble rabble, more trust.

Nakona Horn
His recruiting prowess is overblown. His track record as an actual COACH at Texas is dreadful. The guy has seriously failed in every metric possible when one evaluates the "coaching" profession. From talent identification, to development, to on field production the guy is an absolute zero. You should ask Bryan Harsin what he thinks of Chambers. There are dozens of guys out there with as good or better relevant recruiting connections in Dallas. You simply can't spin this guy in any way, shape or form. This isn't 1998 where Chambers was winning games at Dallas Carter. Speak to HS coaches around the state specifically about Chambers and you will get a very underwhelming response.
J.B. TexasEx
Totally agree. Let's find an offensive philosophy and find players that fit. Personally, I'd like to see something comparable to what tOSU and/or OSU runs. A spread-type offense that can also run the ball. A dual-threat QB will make it even better. Topstarr
Trust in Chambers and No more rabble rabble from Chambers.....OK I am on board.
Juan
Jermichael Finley........., Near the top of my underutilized while at Texas team (Priest Holmes, Jamaal Charles & Daje are on that list too). Remember JMich's first half v. ou? Followed by ZERO throws in the 2nd half (and another loss). I am not sure he got more than a handful of passes thrown his way the rest of the year. Hair pulling frustration. No more of that please.
GoHornsGo90
Not even a mediocre recruiter. One of the single worst position coaches in the nation. It's a mind-boggling retention.

RAISTLIN
Chambers is a wasted hire. When you only have 9 assistants, you must use them wisely. We are operating with 8 assistants.

That's what I thought.

JerrySandusky'sCellmate
Jamaal Charles was underutilized? He rushed for 3,300 yards at UT. Fumbled more than his share as well. He slowed way down on his fumbling in the NFL, but he dropped the ball at lot in college. Finley was a good TE for us and had 45 catches in his junior year before leaving early. I don't think either of those were not utilized. Daje, DJ Monroe and Marquise Goodwin were not underutilized either. They were flat out wasted. CoachBobbyFinstock
Disagree. Chambers is dead weight. If you want a HS coach on staff with a DFW presence then get Claude Mathis at RB coach. Brewster produces better players and is a better recruiter and should be the TE coach or even Derek Lewis. Texas has the money to get either but settles. Texas is a 10 that dates a 5.
Nakona Horn
I never got a chance to talk to Harsin. What did he say when you talked to him? That's what I thought. Never said I talked to him. Said you should HEAR what Harsin said about Chambers. My buddy helped Harsin inside Belmont on all kinds of issues. Camps, admin stuff, football camp organization, stuff like that. I know what I know and I'll leave it at that.
Lord Vader
No one had a problem with Chambers as RB coach or TE coach when we were winning. Regarding Harsin, he didnt like anyone here once he signed on, so whats your point?

So your buddy is a secretary, you know what you know. I'm sure he was Harsin's confidant. You've never seen a practice, have no idea of his coaching skills. Yes, you do know what you do. Heloteshorn
Either Chambers recruits busts, can't develop talent, or both. That doesn't cut it.
