SlickStreet
I can't figure what in the world is going on here. It's all over the place (here as well) that Strong to Texas, and that Strong himself has been pushing for the job. Then we hear that a decision hasn't been reached? What the heck? Pancho Negro
Pat Forde @YahooForde 48s I'm told there's 1stumbling block keeping Strong-Texas from happening. May get resolved, but not yet. Offer is there, not formally accepted.

beevomav
This is the same Charlie Strong that accepted the Tennessee job last year and then at the last moment back out. One thing for sure, if he balks, he better enjoy Louisville because no one else will give him another chance.
sdhornesq
Who the hell is Clint Hurtt, why is he f##king up our shit, and why wasn't this resolved prior to the offer?

HookemHorns
Wow! If this is true then somebody in bellmont really wanted to screw with new regime. Payback for Mack?
HookemHorns
My other thought is that they are waiting to announce later to get more run on Monday.

It sounds like something technical that will be resolved soon.
djohn2oo8
My other thought is that they are waiting to announce later to get more run on Monday. No need to do that for Strong. Saban, yes. But not strong.

Marcus Dupree's boots
Buy-out is $5 mill. Strong is very loyal to Jurich for giving him the shot no one else would. That's the reason he backed out of the Tenn job.
djohn2oo8
Eric Crawford @ericcrawford 5m So reportedly no decision from Strong. Clint Hurtt still an issue. Guess we'll do this all again sometime?
Boobie Miles
Just a thought, what if this roadblock or whatever you want to call it is from another coach still showing interest. It sounds like what "insiders" have said that Strong was a contingency plan, then with rumors swirling that Golden could go to Penn State forcing Miami to act could have expedited our decision and offering Strong. We had to do so or we would have ended up with no coach. I am not saying that Saban is leaning towards coming and that is what is causing the hiccup with Strong this morning, but there could be a slim possibility a coach is still interested and wants to come. I guess we will have to wait and see.
