badboy783
I have no clue where he goes on offense but I'll throw this out for defense. Charlie Strong - HC Jerry Gray - DC & DB's Randy Shannon - LB's & Recruiting Ed Orgeron - DL & Recruting Coordinator or Bo Davis Oscar Giles - DE's & Recruting

o5prey
It wont be Chad Morris at OC I doubt we get Orgeron if it's not as a DC - and I don't like that position for him.
TheContractor
Hopefully Ed O can get the co-DC title
Hablue65
Vance Bedford may follow from Louisville for DC. So Chad Morris has a large buy out for a lateral move. Would hiring him and Asst HC and OC be lateral, currently he is OC and QB coach at Clemson
sotxhorn
Scott Frost (Oregon) for OC
4th_and_18
I like Matt Campbell as a possible OC Wouldn't be surprised to see Greg stick around as DC one more season. Not that it's a sign, but he is one of the two who weren't transitioned to the special assistant title.
Akersaway
Laughable that we are going to get top assistants. We hired a tier 2 or 3 coach and now we are going to get tier 1 assistants to join him.? Step out of fantasy land we are in mediocrity and with this hire we just committed ourselves fully to it. I'd love to see your Tiers list. Fact is, Strong is a badass defensive football coach, who will inspire these players and stop our team from playing like a bunch of softies. I think it was a good hire, provided he can get a stud OC to give us an offense. Make no mistake, Texas will have a MONSTER defense under this guy. aowells
Texas is a fast track for HC jobs as a coordinator. Yeah everyone is looking for a HC from the Charlie Strong coaching tree. Or is it just the Texas entry on the resume? I guess a lot of programs are just dying to get their hands on the next Will Muschamp. Saban, Harbaugh or even Fisher have some serious cachet to offer incoming coordinators who aspire to great head coaching gigs. We're going to get the middle of the roaders just happy to cash in and suck the UT teet dry.

acropora
I'll play. OC: Tom Herman (Ohio state)- Started at Texas, 98-2008 in Texas, also Scott Frost (Oregon), Philip Montgomery (Baylor) RB: Applewhite: I still think he is among the elite recruiters on our staff, allows some continuity, running backs did well under him OL: Searels - I personally felt he did a good to great job on the offensive line, tireless recruiter, also Bob Bostad (currently TB bucs, may be looking for a new job WR:Dugans (UL) - Wyatt did a great job but likely looking to be an OC now TE: Brewster - a huge part of our success, elite recruiter DC: Bedford - another native comes home DL: Hurdt (reportedly Strong's best recruiter) or Orgeron (a staff with Orgeron and Brewster is unfair, both with ties to California and Florida) LB: Sal Sunseri (not going to happen but one of the best in the biz...maybe FSU can't pay him enough to keep him) DB: Travaris Robinson (UF): Elite recruiter, great results, young S&C: Shannon Turley (Stanford)

utisdabomb12
I have friends connected with Morris at Lake Travis. Apparently, he absolutely loves the Austin area. If he isn't offered a head coaching position, I think Texas could make a run at him if they were willing to pay big money. Throw something ridiculous at him, I think we get him IMO. If Texas spends the money on buyout and throw a huge salary out there, they can get him. Why not we are rich?
Davharjac
Would love Morris at OC, but I could see Miami making a run at him (I have no "sources") and he would not pass on that. I like Scott Frost, Jerrod running ability is similar to Marcus' and it would be awesome to see him cut it loose. I would also like to see a coach that uses the TE position and work the middle of the field, Swoopes would/could be a monster as a spread TE. I like that choice, hope they are right. I know that Morris is the guy that is going to get the most play but I believe he will be a HC somewhere soon and he has a huge buyout if he leaves to a non HC posistion. Boobie Miles
I do not want Major to stay. Not to sound rough or blunt, but I feel like Mack brought him back to compensate from his playing days. His only good season was at Rice. LongviewLobo01
Herman has ties to Texas as he was a former GA here at one point. Given Strong's ties to Urban you'd have to think if he looked that way he'd have a good idea of what we are getting. The biggest question with him is just how much control he has on the offense with UM looking over his shoulder. I love how they have used Miller who I think is very similar in skill set to Swoopes. No way are we going to pay Morris' buyout and then have him leave in a year or two. He could be in good position for the Louisville job for starters. I think Porter would be a good hire to stay at RB coach. He's done a great job with the running backs this year and his recruiting prowess is great. Give him the ability to pretty much go and get whoever he wants wherever he wants and I think he will really shine. Joe Wickline is the OL coach at Oklahoma State and worked with Strong previously. Wickline would not look our way in the slightest when the opening came up a few years back, but maybe Strong will get him to change his mind. We'd probably have to give him some kind of Assistant or Associate HC/Running game Coordinator title and pay him $500-600K a year to have a chance, but he'd be worth every penny. Currently makes around $400K at Okla State. Oh yeah, and he's a VERY good recruiter of the East Texas area. With his current DL coach Hurtt not being an option to accompany Strong to Texas it makes a lot of sense to bring on a guy like Ed Orgeron to replace him as both the DL coach and recruiting coordinator. Hell, Orgeron might be even better, especially after the season he just had as USC's interim coach. Letting that guy loose nationally on the recruiting trail representing Texas would be very scary. It appears as though Strong will bring his current DC Vance Bedford and LB coach Brian Jean-Mary with him. Also, his strength coach Pat Moorer. I'm not sure who he might look to bring in as TE coach or WR coach, but there are some good ones out there.

JerrySandusky'sCellmate
Stats show Louisville had the #2 ranked defense in the country. Why would he keep Greg Robinson when we were ranked #63? I would guess he'd bring in his own DC and our former DB Vance Bedford. Kind of a no brainer to me. Some Horn fans are slamming this hire, but the #2 defense in the nation appeals to me very much. I am sick of average opponents making themselves look like the Heisman winner against us. acropora
New list with some info from OB and looking through his coaching tree OC: Tom Herman (Ohio state)- Started at Texas, 98-2008 in Texas, reported as possibility by OB also Scott Frost (Oregon), Philip Montgomery (Baylor) RB: Porter - I still think he is among the elite recruiters on our staff, allows some continuity, running backs did well under him OL: Wickline - elite, possibly best spread offensive line coach in the country. Worked together at UF in 2003 WR:Wyatt TE: Brewster - a huge part of our success, elite recruiter DC: Bedford - another native comes home, worked with him at UF (DB coach) DL: Orgeron - (a staff with Orgeron and Brewster is unfair, both with ties to California and Florida) LB: Brian Jean-Mary - GA at USC in 2001 when Strong was DC, well thought of by Strong reportedly DB: Travaris Robinson (UF): Elite recruiter, great results, young S&C: Pat Moorer (UL) - Per OB, very close to Strong and almost a given
