MBHORNSFAN
I have spoken to several HS football coaches today about Strong. The consensus is he would kill it at Texas. Just a perspective from HS coaches around Houston & East Texas.
Horns Win
Not that my opinion matters but I totally agree with those coaches.
Chitownhorn
Curious, has he recruited a lot in Texas?

GigoloJoe
Why does he not seem to excite the fanbase then?
CardSID
So it's Strong?
Peoples Elbow
No. Look at the recruiting classes and think about Strong changing that any time soon. Not happening
TheContractor
I think Strong would do great here. Yes, Louisville currently has the commitment of a x-Texas commit, Daniel Greshim. I dont think UL can focus on Texas at this time bc they dont play games here. You also dont know what ties the assistant coaches have in Texas. I assume they are more Florida based, at least we know CS is.
HornNdriftwood
Why does he not seem to excite the fanbase then? Are you familiar with our fan base?
burntomaro
Why does he not seem to excite the fanbase then? He doesn't excite those who were totally dead-set on getting Saban and think Saban is the only one who can bring us back.
TheContractor
Why does he not seem to excite the fanbase then? I am excited! and frankly, i dont care if the fanbase is excited or not. I dont care if he is going to pucker up on LNH or not. I want a coach to come here and win football games.

Not too much wiggle, but good speed and great power. Big thighs Of course, he was tearing up the SPC private and prep schools. That talent doesn't compare to most UIL 4A & 5A teams. primal defense
Strong is in contention for the coaching job because he's getting raves from coaches everywhere. It's also why the search firm recommended him over everyone else. When Tom Jurich introduced Strong as the new Louisville coach, he said everyone raved about Charlie. As a coach and as a person. Jurich went back to Tony Dungy and asked him to tell him something bad about Charlie. Dungy couldn't think of anything. Put me down for believing he would kill here. Also, he could coach for twelve years and no more Manny Diaz defense. Edited January 4, 2014 by primal defense
