Worth a listen…

That surprised me as well.

Even if there season becomes a disappointment by Saben's standard,  their is no reason to think Saben has lost his mojo.

Agree. I think he's just missing a QB. Greg McElroy wasn't all that special, but he did a great job of driving the bus. Saban doesn't have that right now.

Milroe is a liability. He stares down his targets, doesn't go through progressions. When he drops back, you can see where the ball is going to go. That's why we were able to pick off a pair of his passes Saturday.

Saban should at least try one of the other QB candidates, just to see if there's a bus driver in there.

Milroe reminded me a lot of Jerod Heard. Great HS QB, but just never learned how to go through progressions and relied on his legs way too much.  Milroe appears to have the arm strength and very nice touch on the long ball.  Maybe he will learn the other part or maybe he won't.  Heard was never able to get it and ultimately moved to WR. Milroe might have a similar path.

it amazes me how all us arm chair QB's can watch a game where a QB is under great pressure all game and come to the conclusion that he doesnt "go through his progressions"...hard to do with a mad 350 pounder in your face.

Our guys were saying the same thing about Quinn just the game before.....Same thing with Saban...After the Rice game the howls were mighty about how Sark should not/could not be HC and OC....he couldnt make halftime adjustments. Embarassing I say. Now they are turning on Saban?...better for us if they do run him.

Damned lucky the powers that be did not lose faith in Sark like the dumbass fan base did....

Fan bases always have a tendency to over react to a game. When a team wins,  the fans think the future is bright and the sky is the limit,  when the team loses the fans believe the sky is falling.

The Alabama decision makers are not going to run off Saben because of one game, or one season.

Saben hates to lose at least as much as the fans,  and he will make whatever additions or changes are needed to get Alabama competing for SEC championships

agreed.....and as long as we are over reacting....did anyone even give a thought to that first TD pass to Worthy? I don't know which foot Quinn threw it off of, but I do know that it looked to me like he just "flicked" it.....like a simple toss, and it traveled over 50 yds in the air and dropped EXACTLY where it needed to. Not too many folks can throw a football 50 yards, but to do it with no effort and accurately is special

You're right and that's the good and bad of Quinn in a nutshell. He's got amazing arm talent, but he relies on it too much at times. He forgets his mechanics and his feet are all over the place.

Imagine if that flick is overthrown? We're killing him instead of praising him. X had to make a heck of an effort to make that catch. It was actually not a very accurate throw.

Now the long TD pass to Mitchell was right on the money. If Quinn finds consistency in that long ball, that offense will be hard to stop and he'll get an invite to the NYC Downtown Athletic Club.

Needed to be towards the sideline more. An overhead catch is not easy at all. When you flick it it can sail on you a bit.

Not necessarily a bad throw, but a great catch had to be made.

It was an overhead catch because of where the WR ran. And he ran to the ball because Ewers did throw the perfect pass, laying it up for his WR to go get. And he got it. The WR could have run more to the right if he had wanted. But he still brought it down so no harm.

Ewers had a perfect arch on the ball for that distance. He used to like to throw it on a line and that's difficult for a WR to judge, sort of like a line drive in baseball as opposed to a pop fly.

The Arch was great. He put plenty or air under it. The angle wasn't the greatest. I'm not complaining because they got 6 from it.

At the time the play hapenned I thought it was just me,then Joey Galloway said the same in the post game scoreboard show.

I'm big on Quinn, I hope he gets his mechanics down and not rely solely on his arm talent. As he goes so do we this year and it could be a very special one.

The only place he could throw it with the defensive back not getting a hand on it. It was a perfect throw

I've watched it a few times now (speaking of which, if anyone can butcher an encore presentation, leave it to LHN) and Ewers did not step into that throw. It looked like he threw it flat footed. He's either very good or very lucky. Time will tell.

Thanks for posting. I lost a few brain cells listening to it, but it was entertaining.  The guy delivers them more championships than most programs have in their history and these morons are ready to trade him in for Deon because of 1 loss. Smh...

When you really think about it, completing deep passes with any consistency is an amazing feat. Near perfect distance, direction, arch, and timing are essential to hit a streaking receiver in stride with a defender on his tail. Not to mention adjusting for any wind. It has to be one of the most difficult plays in any sport and it's a joy to watch. The fact that it takes time to get right shouldn't be a surprise.

what a bunch of spoiled, entitled fans...They sure are talking smack when they are winning but the first time they get beat by team that looks to be more skilled at every position they go berserk

I think what it is, they know that the dynasty is coming to an end and its not two patsies coming to the SEC, well may it is One Patsie and we know it aint us

I think one other prospect that hasn't been discussed is recruiting, Texas has alway been just ok in recruiting out of state, they have hit on a nugget like Ricky W, Bijan and it was always OU and the other SEC schools who would come poach Texas players and lure them across the border. In the coming years if Texas builds back a national power you will see UT mentioned as one of the schools that 5 star players are thinking of going to. Its not going to be just Alabama,Georgia,Clemson, USC, Texas will join that list and maybe even replace one of the Big 4

I think we are already here in recruiting.

5th and 3rd place finishes the last two years with the 5th and 3rd most 5 stars in each class.

This year, we are in good position to be 3rd overall with the 2nd or 3rd most 5 stars.

Now I agree, Texas recruiting can reach another level entirely, where we are 1st overall and wins over Bama help with that. A big12 Championship and CFP appearance would also push us to that height as well.

not even close....but Sark and his crew are heading in the right direction, Texas is not only going to have to win Championships but they have to send kids to the NFL, we somehow lost that in the last decade, but maybe Bijan and Roschon are the start of things to come. Texas has to become one of the cool places again, and its going to take more than one game to do it

Milroe's inability or refusal to go through his progression isn't something new. We knew this from his play last year and what he did in their first game. A team like MTSU can't take advantage of that. But a team like Texas could and did.

I would encourage you to watch him yourself. He stares down his target, which like I said yesterday, was why we came back with two INTs.

I mean, we've objectively been a top 5 team in terms of 5 star success so I'm not sure how that classifies as "not even close".
