I have a feeling that thought is starting to seep into their heads. Nebraska fans and Tom Osborne had that same feeling when we joined the Big 12. I think Yoggi Berra said it best, it’s deja vu all over again. gmcc
605Longhorn
I know after the Rice game it was a big stat that Texas had 30 freshman play. Does anyone know how many played during the bama game? I know Baxter and Muhammad played but do not remember many other players.

TexCoyote
I said a week ago one to watch is the offensive line play against Alabama. I said Alabama is not going to run stunts like our offensive line has had trouble with and Rice ran effectively. Alabama isn’t going to stunt. They try to physically manhandle you and I thought that played better for our guys. Our guys played physical and kept Quinn on his feet. I haven’t seen Wyoming except a little bit of that Tech game but I would expect them to see what Rice did and try to do that. Use quickness and stunts to try to get Texas confused and create some lanes. I hope we respond. It’s just two different ways of trying to get after the QB. They rushed for two more yards than we did, they gave up 5 sacks to our 0. We won the battle of the Big Uglies and that’s HUGE!!! Ewer’s was a stud tonight. Horns Up!!! Turnover difference was key. We got two interceptions to no turnovers by us. Congrats to Ewers and the team for no turnovers. Huge difference. dssl

Basis Points
I think credit needs to go to Sark for sticking with PK and of course to PK for great defense this year. I will admit i was questioning the hire at several points, but it appears to take a little while to learn. Hats off to PK. gmcc, NEOkHorn and TXFF 1 1
BruiseLee
I think keeping the same staff (mostly) for all 3 seasons helps the players tremendously since they're not learning new systems year in and year out like we have for the past 10 years. Very true. Apparently Saban has his offense and defense and coordinators are expected to adopt and manage it. That's a very good approach for player continuity, but has a downside. Sark practiced against that D for two years and, of course, ran the offense. He knows Saban's style inside and out and knows exactly what it takes to beat it. Congrats to him and the other coaches for smart game plan and to the team for executing it.

TXFF
We've been saying for two years that this team needs to learn how to finish. Lesson learned. This is what finishing a game looks like. tejasrulz

They have continued to recruit at a high level. I think what is lacking is an offensive coordinator that can bring in or develop top flite QBs. With Saben's track record for turning his coordinators into successful head coaches he should be able to find an offensive coordinator that is more of a QB whisperer. I don't think Alabama played poorly. Their OC is much better than last year. The defense played well. The Horns just beat 'em. They will finish the season in the top 10. lshorn79
