Very good news after last weekend (more on that later). If I may elaborate please for those of you who didn't watch the game. TCU led off the 9th with a single which led to Texas pulling LBJ (who had a great outing) in favor of Shaw. A sac bunt put the TCU runner at 2nd. Then a TCU single put runners on 1st & 3rd with 1 out. Not sure why they didn't send the runner home but they didn't. The next batter hit a flyout to LF, the runner took off for home and Brown threw him out at the plate for the game ending double play! I watched both games and multiple times during both of them the announcers stated how much the ou sweep of Texas, in Austin, hurt the Horns chances of hosting a regional. They also mentioned today that the last time ou swept Texas in Austin was in the 1950's! Coot and Eastexhorn 1

Eastexhorn
Pitching tommorow? Whit starts goes one inning, Hurley next? Or Stehle. Tole and Shaw should be good for a couple innings each . We will see tommorow.

It might be a winners takes all against WVU in 3 weekends idf it plays out right. We should've won at least 1 if not 2 of the games against ou sux. We should've sweeped Baylor as well, but didn't. As for Witt it's not 1 inning, but 20 pitches you D.A. so hope for 1 inning. Can't believe they didnt send their catcher on a single towards Cambell, but guessing they fear his throw over Brown's throw on a sac fly to short left field. Glad that he threw accurately. For the double play. tejasrulz

david ficken
It's been ugly so far today. As I thought 2/3 of an inning for Witt. It's 13-4 TCU in the bottom of the 5th. Also, Hurley, and Tole each going only 2/3 of an inning each.
david ficken
Texas is on it's 7 pitcher in the bottom of the 6th. The score is 15-6 TCU. Texas has scored 2 runs in the top half of the 5th and 6th. TCU has scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th. Texas has 3 outs and hope to score at least 2-3 more times in the top of the 7th; while keeping TCU from scoring anymore runs to not having the run rule used on them. tejasrulz
If you would have told me before this started that Texas would take the series, I would have been happy. A sweep would have been awesome but a series win on the road isn't bad. BWilk55
david ficken
Thru the top of the 7th. Texas adds 1 more run, but Cambell was tagged out at hime plate for the 3rd out off a WP. 15-7 TCU. Need to keep TCU from scoring 2 runs to get to the top of the 8th.

Winning this series was a nice bounce back regardless of the bad taste this loss will leave in our mouths. tejasrulz

david ficken
TCU wins the game 15-7. Texas takes the series. However K-State, Okie Lite, and West Virginia are still ahead of Texas in the standings. The next 7 games are important and we really need to win all of them, drop 1 at the most. Kansas this next weekend is a 8th in the conference and RPI 113 (quad 3). UT-Arlington is 85 in RPI And San Jose state is 133 in RPI. Any losses in these games could really hurt our RPI. West Virginia RPI is 16. Winning that series 2/3 would be a nice boost to our resume that last weekend. A sweep would be better and would likely mean we win the big 12 and would almost certainly host. I have to admit that I'm pleasantly surprised by this year so far. I honestly expected a middle of the pack team. Not to say I haven't been let down this year. I got very excited and hopeful when they went on that long winning streak only to be brought back to reality. The fact they have a shot at winning the B12 is ming boggling right now. I haven't seen so many top 25 teams lose series, but then again I'm fairly new to NCAA BB. Hell the Rangers are in 1st place so it has to be a strange year. hookemhorb and Dillohorn1

Seems to be more parody in baseball these days. Teams have fallen off completely and bounced back the following year. Some teams, the opposite. Not sure if it is a trend or just a blip. Perhaps transfer portal is allowing the talent to be concentrated more amongst the power 5 type schools or other baseball powers instead of spread amongst small schools and JUCO. Also, there are still plenty of very experienced players around due to the extra covid year. Not too hard to find a pretty solid 5th year player.
