Administrators HornSports Staff Posted January 30 Administrators Report Share Posted January 30 Jan 28, 2023; Knoxville, Tennessee, USA; Texas Longhorns guard Marcus Carr (5) brings the ball up court against the Tennessee Volunteers during the second half at Thompson-Boling Arena. Mandatory Credit: Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports The Texas Longhorns (17-4, 6-2 Big 12) held steady at #10 in the newly released AP Top 25 Men's Basketball Poll released Monday, despite an 11 point loss to Rick Barnes' now #2 Tennesse Volunteers on Saturday. Texas welcomes a surging Baylor team that has won 12 of their last 13 games against the Longhorns. Baylor is is 6-1 in Austin since 2016. While the Longhorns sit in a 3-way tie for first place in the Big 12 (along with Iowa State and Kansas State), the Bears are close behind in a tie for second along with the jayhawks and Horned Frogs. A win tonight at the Moody Center would stifle a red-hot Baylor team and keep the Longhorns in the co-driver's seat for a regular-season first place finish. What: #10 Texas Longhorns vs. #11 Baylor Bears When: Monday, January 30th, 2022 Venue: Moody Center Location: Austin, Texas Time: 8:00 PM CST TV: ESPN Last meeting between these two teams: Baylor defeated Texas 68-61 (February 28th, 2022 - Austin, TX) Series Record: Texas Leads Baylor 163-96 Longhorns' record at Moody Center: 11-

david ficken
What a gsme. We won 76-71. Allen and Rice led the way. Carr didn't have his best game. Mitchell is being more active and shows his athleticism especially around the basket. Earl Nobis Jefferson

texbound
The one thing I like about this team is that they scrape, scratch and claw every game. Even in the loss against Tenn they kept fighting. Love to see Mitchell more active tonight. Rice has been tearing it up lately. Would like to see Morris get a little more run and rest Carr for the end of games because he is proving to be clutch. Hopefully this game helps Hunter gain his confidence back. You know, a lineup I would like to see together at some point is Hunter, Morris, Cunningham, Mitchell and Bishop and just run it up and down. Then bring back Carr, Rice, Allen and Disu to slow the pace down and grind. Not the whole game, but in spurts. Huskie1
Great win!! Good to see Hunter starting to get things going. His defense was really good. Lots of energy by the guys and a good bounce back. I’m excited to see what they do on the road Saturday. Earl Nobis Jefferson and Sunkist 1
david ficken
With our win tonight and ISU losing in OT to Tech; we are sitting alone atop the conference. Now, tomorrow night's game between KSU and KU, we could either be tied with the team we are playing Saturday or 1 game up. Need to see Hunter playing the defense on Saturday and next Monday like he did tonight. We are 12-1 at home so far this year. Do wish we had closed the deal in getting George, this kid is a player. java and Earl Nobis Jefferson 1
83Dee
What a nice win! That’s the Hunter I saw at the beginning of the year! Disu gets better and better. I also liked seeing the two freshmen get minutes. I don’t know how well Terry would perform in all the duties of a head coach… but with regard to how he manages a game as a head coach, it’s tough to find fault. Agree. hate to say this, but Beard getting fired was probably the best thing to ever happen to Terry as far as his career goes. I know he has been a solid Asst Coach and was ok as a HC, but managing this team through the turmoil would be tough on anyone. You can tell the team is playing for him. 83Dee, tejasrulz, General Hooker and 4 others 3 3
