Witfong said he was glad that he left his crystal ball on Texas, even when the missouri noise started picking up.

I'll also say this, on 9/1 the Missouri law change went into effect that allows high school players with signed Financial Aid agreements (this commits the school to the player but not the player to the school like the National Letter of Intent) to schools based in Missouri to begin earning NIL money.

If he was a lock to Missouri, it would be more financially prudent to sign the financial aid agreement (and probably verbally commit) and begin making some money on NIL deals.

If you read the tea leaves, there are plenty of signs. The IT guys play a game with over under on 5 star commits. Three has been the number for a couple of months. Kobe Black and Wingo get the same treatment.

They were iffy on Baker until recently. We'll see if the number changes once Baker commits. Assuming Baker picks Texas, we will have 4- 5 stars on board.

LOL. Whatever amount Mizzou might be able to pay Wingo, you can rest assured Texas will go far above that.

You are missing the point.

He could start getting paid for NIL deals right now if he signed a financial aid agreement with mizzou (or other missouri schools). Without a FAA to a Missouri school, he is not eligibile to receive NIL money right now.

I do agree, he can likely make more during his time on campus at Texas than Missouri.

Did we even recruit Nigel Smith much? Our interest just never seemed very serious.

I'm guessing either he wasn't ever interested that much in us so we weren't that interested in him or we weren't ever interested that much in him so he wasn't that interested in us.

But I have also been told he has a sister at ou. But don't know that for a fact.

And my granddaughter is friends with Nigel.

That's all I've got.
