Hamilton of IT visited Acadiana today to watch DT Dominick McKinley.

He said people around the school have various opinions of where he will end up, but he doesn't think Ohio State will be the pick.

He also said Oklahoma doesn't sound like his destination either.

Those have been his perceived leaders along with Texas, but apparently A&M and LSU have a legit shot due to proximity to home.

From Acadiana, 5hrs 7min to collie station, 6hrs 12min to Austin. Only 1 hour difference between Heaven and Hell.

Ok, so the season 11 days away and I'm so pumped about it.

What do we have coming down the pipeline in regards to recruiting?  McKinley on 1 Sep.

Anyone else pulling the trigger before their Sr season?

Any word on Kobe Black?

Brandon Baker?

Umeozulu?

Okoye?

I'm thinking Wingo goes until December.

Or should I sit back and just enjoy the season and let recruiting fall where it falls?

One final question, what are we thinking as far as class size this year?  22?  Currently sitting at 16.  Let's say McKinley, Black, Wingo and Baker chose the good guys. That leaves little room for additions.  Do they hold those spots for players like Gipson and Hudson or for late bloomers and flips.

No other scheduled dates for commits.

Black likely to pop sometime in September.

Baker September or October (Oregon side thinks October)

Umeozulu and Okoye probably a bit longer.

And Wingo has said NSD but the more recent buzz is that is happens sooner than that.

Sit back and let everything unfold.

Hamilton at IT said today he's thinking 23 or 24, and the staff will most definitely be looking for late bloomers a la McDonald and Roberson last cycle.

I truly believe the coaching staff is leaving no stone unturned in trying to get these elite recruits to commit to Texas.  I love the fact they are not willing to settle just to say they filled a slot.  The fishing metaphor does apply, you can either catch small fish near the bank or go to the deep water where the big boys live and battle it out for the right catch.  After the last couple of years I have no reason to doubt they will be succesful yet again.

I like your analogy. I would rather catch one 10 pound bass than ten 1 pound bass.

IT saying Bussey will be at the Alabama/Texas game on September 9th, and then he's a possibility to be in Austin the following weekend for the Wyoming game.

He hasn't taken his A&M official yet, and that's likely to happen in October, but Texas has a chance to give him a lot to think about in the short-term.
