I have high hopes that Finkley and Sorrell can be the answer at DE. If they can make some noise, then the interior can be more active.

Everybody who watched practices kept saying out Finkley was playing like a veteran. They also raved about Sorrell's progress.

I remain hopeful.

The secondary should be legit.

When they say “playing like a veteran” I hope they aren’t talking about the veterans on our team or we are in trouble

IT had an update this morning on Pitt transfer WR Jordan Addison.

After things had cooled off a bit after leaving Austin, they're back to watching this recruitment with "extreme interest", even after his official visit to USC.

They say there's a good chance he'll visit Alabama in the coming days, but Texas is squarely in the recruitment and they're "buckling up for a potentially interesting week."

Even Burton chimed in saying "paying close attention to Addison."

Maybe IT and Burton should stop using me as a “source”. I basically called this 23HRS ago and 1 page back.
It just goes to show if you throw enough crap at a wall (paid or free) something could stick.
BTW He ain’t going to Bama and that’s a guarantee.

It’s difficult to believe that as highly ranked as some of the recent classes have been that they were not very talented. Seems to me that there has not been any talent development for most of the last decade. That is the area I am most interested to see if this staff can change. Texas attracts talent. Just doesn’t seem like they have been able to do anything with it in quite a while.

As difficult to believe as it is to believe, believe.  The guys graduating aren't going to the NFL and the guys transferring aren't tearing it up either.  There may be something to recruits getting a bump in rating when Texas recruits them.

I think our talent pickers weren't that good.  We never tried to compete nationally with Bama, Georgia, or even OU.

Since Sark spent time at USC as HC and Coach Choice gave up his new position at USC to join Sark at Texas, they can offer insight into the respective programs. Then you add the fact that Coach Marion coached Addison to the Biletnikoff Award and you have a powerful message. As long as the NIL money is there or at least in the ballpark, I suspect he'll be a Longhorn.

Alabama 247 saying they aren't aware of any visit plans for Addison at this time.

My bold prediction if Addison picks Texas:

Texas will avg 540ypg this coming season. Predicting 14 games (12reg, B12CC, Bowl game)

Bijan - 130ypg (100rush and 30rec) = 1400rsh & 420rec)

Rojo - 50ypg = 700rsh

Addison - 90ypg = 1260rec

Worthy - 80ypg = 1120rec

Neyor - 60ypg = 840rec

Whittington - 50ypg = 700rec

Others (TE, other RB & WR) - 80ypg = 1120ypg

Total ypg x14 = 7560ypg

I know it all depends on the OL, but they will be much improved this year.  Just a feeling.  They will get knocked around by Bama in week 2 for sure, but they will be a lot better against the B12 opponents and other NonConf games.  I might be a little drunk right now so I'm feeling optimistic.

This ypg mark would be around #2-#5 in the nation. If things gel, it is definitely possible. Will have to be similar to the 2019 LSU team, or 2009 Texas teams. Create an explosive offense around a potentially shaky OL. Can Sark scheme an explosive offense that hides the OL deficiencies via RPO, quick passing game?

As we all know by now, we suck until we don't. It appears that we have a hot sports opinion suggesting we will stop sucking this season, at least after the Bama game.

This is a big deal folks.

This maybe old news, but what happened to Aglye Hall? I just read a headline on my computer's homepage that he was no longer listed on the team roster.

He’s not on the roster because he’s not enrolled yet. Are you the same dude who asked this social media question before?
I think the first time someone asked this was prior to his interview about how much he liked the fans at Texas. He’s coming until he says he ain’t. The kid never seems to be at a loss for words so I feel confident he will post any change of mind.
