I wonder what Shaka has to do to keep his job? Is a 4 seed and a Sweet 16 appearance enough? Or does CDC need him to do more.

So, apparently there are two names being discussed. The first one is John Beilein. I know he's been a successful coach and there would be fans of this hire, but I'm a hard pass on this one.

The other name is more interesting: Royal Ivey. After playing in the NBA for 10 years, he's been an NBA assistant coach since 2014. He's well-regarded in coaching circles and was sought after before joining the Nets this season. Apparently the former UT players are very vocal for his hire. Also, he's a Longhorn and bleeds the burnt orange. Personally, I'm all in on hiring ivey. I really hope it happens.

Beilein will always be a better college coach. Can't believe he tried to go to the NBA. What a failure that was...

Ivey would be a similar hire to Juwan Howard at Michigan. Those usually work out great like Howard seems to be, or terrible like Patrick Ewing at Georgetown.
