Texas Commits in Action – Regional Finals

Recommended Posts

Better get your tickets early for Duncanville-Southlake Carroll

For you Horns who might want to see Duncanville’s Jaquinden Jackson and Southlake Carroll’s Andrej Kuric play in the Class 6A Div. 1 Regional Final at 2:30 p.m. Saturday – Forget about it. I kid, but only sorta.

Ordinarily, a playoff game of this magnitude and involving DFW teams would be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. However, due to the Big 12 Championship Game, this wasn’t possible.

So the venue selected was McKinney ISD Stadium, which has a capacity of 12,000. McKinney ISD is making available 3,000 standing room only tickets available for a total of 15,000 tickets. There will be more fans than seats.

If you’re still up for going and taking in this game, you can purchase tickets online pre-game at

I'm going to the Gilmer /Pleasant Grove game  at Lobo Stadium. That's going to be a slobber knocker . Im planning on getting there early

That will be a good game. I have a cousin in Gilmer who's son is playing center for Gilmer. So I've got to cheer on the Buckeyes this week.

Shotime, keep an eye on Landon Jackson and let us know your thoughts after the game.

He will be doubled team all night. Gilmer did that last game. I'm sure they will make him chase, most teams are doing that.

I'll be keeping you updated on him. By the way what is your cousins name?

One interesting problem the UIL is facing in attempting to create realigned districts is in El Paso, where there are only three Class 5A teams now. Lubbock has four and Amarillo has four.

UIL likely puts the El Paso and Lubbock schools together in one district and leaves Amarillo with a four-team district.

The drive-time between El Paso and Lubbock is 5.5 hours one way, and you have to drive across part of New Mexico to get there.
